Emma hayes is a good manager but a terrible coach, she was also offered a first team managers job in men's football but turned it down
Thing is though, a lot of managers probably aren’t good coaches. Don’t think Sir Alex was upto much but could manage and pick a good coach to be in his back room staff. Emma is always decent on punditry
Wasn't intended as arrogant. Just think England mens shouldn't be someone's first senior management role.
I was ultimately wrong about Southgate though, so as long as the next appointment is a successful one I'll happily be proven wrong.
Clough and Keegan weren't technical coaches but good man managers. Think the game has moved on in recent years though, especially with the head coach and recruitment roles being more commonly split.
