I know all the players so it's interesting and if you played good football I'd enjoy you winning it I'm not really into the where you're from thing. I've never understood what 'managing' young players actually means.
If they're good enough that you called them up and put them on the plane, what was the plan meant to be from the moment you landed? To only play them as subs if you're 4-0 up with ten minutes to go? To not play them at all? To use them as extras in training?
This isn't a 38-game season with cup competitions where there is plenty time and opportunity to ease youngsters into the action.
Either use the tools you picked in the first place, or don't pick them at all.

I thought Slovenia did a very good defensive job on us. My early concern in the game was injuries from some of the tackles going in. I think if Gareth had started a younger team, they could easily have been bullied, how well can Mainoo and Palmer look after themself at international level. It's not pretty to watch but it's been effective ie top of the group. Gareth eased them in late in game and it looked promising, but Slovenia were still not giving anything away, why risk it, we were through anyway? Just trying to be positive about it, not having a go btw.
