No, they don't seem to have been anywhere more than a couple of years. Probably about par for the course these days mind.

If it was a new HC then something would have broken in the media overnight.

Aye I think Cifuentes especially would break at least 48 hours before announcement

This is Sunderland so we have as much chance of announcing Marti Caine as our new manager. (The older supporters amongst us will know).

I'm coming to terms with the fact that my long held hope for an appointment lasting more than 18 months,in order to introduce some kind of continuity,is a forlorn dream.

I agree. Unless it’s someone incredibly left field or, and I’m loathed to use the word, underwhelming.

TBH mate the press are so lazy they wouldn't turn out on the Friday, when the Euros start, just for Speakman.

He's been built up, by supporters, into a much bigger figure than he is imo.

And I doubt the club would want a big fuss, about all this, when we're looking for a manager ...

... people would just say it was a diversionary tactic.

    My opinion.

Ideally, you'd want someone staying a few more years. Maybe if the next bloke has a bit of success, it will encourage him to hang around.

Appreciate its your opinion but don't agree with this bit. He runs the entire footballing structure of the club, and the Head Coach / Manager reports into him.

That hasn't been built up by supporters. That's from the club direct.

His role coming / going is much bigger news than the Head Coach, who by the nature of our structure, should be easily replaceable.

You'd hope so,but these release clauses seem to be in vogue atm and even a bit of success will have the vultures circling....the grass always appears greener to many.
