But you said yourself that Still was basically done so that was someone lined up after the season end. Surely the count starts from when he sacked us off rather than the 110 days or five weeks or whatever? The inactivity since the Still stuff stalled must surely be either that we’re sitting waiting for him with all our eggs in one basket or we’ve had to go back to the drawing board and the beginning of the process. Either way it’s really poor. Is there any inbetween? I guess we could have given Still a deadline of say yesterday and we’ve got our fallback option ready to go if he says no, with just a couple of days to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.
I admire anyone who has patience left at this point. I can feel myself getting more and more irritable. They might be doing good business behind closed doors but it's a pretty big leap of faith to believe that on the form of the last 12 months. I think I'm starting to actually fear the appointment and the transfer window that I was pinning my hopes on.
There’s loads of clubs that are taking much longer mind. Norwich are almost the exception rather than the rule. Brighton are generally recognised as a well run club. They still haven’t appointed anyone.
Go out and wrestle with a crocodile, stand on a snake's head, cake yourself in Factor 50,have a Fosters and relax....fear not marra, good times just around the corner.
Thankfully I am holiday, so more relaxed than most. Heading home tomorrow evening mind, and if we ain’t appointed someone by the weekend I’ll feed a tad more angst. another week and I’ll get concerned we can’t prep fully for the season ahead. but there’s **** all I can do about it, so no point in stressing. anyway, back down the beach today
They interviewed multiple candidates, one of the Jansen, and then paid compensation for Thorup. Knapper had been tracking coaches for months even though they finished in the playoffs they always planned to sack Wagner. Thats succession planning, not the bollocks we are serving up.
You've got your seasons mixed up, mate. I believe it is going to get down to 4 degrees here tonight. Now is the winter of our discontent.
I think the weekend is optimistic - generally things start leaking out 24-48 hours before an appointment. If we don't hear something today I reckon it will be next week...
Do you mind?......I've got too much imagination and now can't get out of my head an image of bollocks being served up. Sweetmeats?.. or is it sweet breads?
It doesn't benefit anyone to become fixated on things in football, it's too volatile. 'Succession planning' falls into the same category as 'The Model' or 'age/wage limits' imo. They can all change in minutes and the policy is written on paper, not carved in stone. Perhaps Leicester had an idea their manager might leave so had earmarked Kompany to replace him. Perhaps Sunderland had Still lined up or perhaps it was Cooper who's now been contacted by Burnley. I was recently told, by someone being serious, that we're talking to Jonny Evans ... ... he didn't say why, and didn't actually know tbh. I didn't post it because there's enough rumours flying around but, who knows, all the big clubs seem little better than us with their planning. Chelsea and Spurs seem absolutely chaotic while Man Utd are serial chancers when it comes to managers. And let's not get into Birmingham
We've still a lot of time before the lads are back and it's more important to make the correct appointment rather than one for the sake of appeasing some of our support, for all we know everything is sewn up and the announcement is set to take place two week from now.
