Honestly I can totally see Still just using Lens to get a better deal here. I just hope we wrap it up

Well yeah, I'd say you're absolutely bang on.

How could we possibly sign the likes of Ballard now when the cost would be beyond us. Of course we have to take chances, as we did with Jack Clarke, and not every move will pay off. It seems we have lots of players who are developing and trying to find their best position like Jobe. That can't happen overnight but the reality is that once he's established he'll have a value way above our means.

Players like Aouchiche are being written off despite their values increasing and not yet having found their best position or having a run in the team.

We need a manager who can find solutions with the squad he has available ...

... not just be presented with an oven-ready experienced Championship team to take up with minimal nous.

    Agree

Anything in the story that we looked at Still after Mogga but decided he's not good enough... so we are looking elsewhere?

That doesn't sound right, where did you hear that? A lot of evidence would point to the contrary.

I fully agree with this but with the cavaet that we are going too far with the idea. It would only take a few tweaks and we could still be a development club but be very competitive today.

For example, a proper centre forward would hide a lot of holes in the team, our xG was actually pretty good, top 6 level, but could we hell take our chances.

I thought the common consensus (in the media at least) was that we looked at Still after Mogga but couldn't afford / didn't want to pay his compensation.

So I guess you could argue we didn't think he represented good value - i.e. wasn't good enough for that fee.

We have a number of candidates. This club remains attractive. Today, we don't have the right person yet. We work hard, without rushing. The hasty decisions, particularly those taken on the sporting side over the past 18 months, have been paid very dearly. »

Still is not done over there

Those tweets from Sky and the Athletic the other day seem more and more like Still's agent putting pressure on us.

According to the clever lads, on social media, it is <laugh>

It seems KLD is working hard to get his man ...

... not that he'll get the slightest praise from those who attack the club at every turn.

I usually always err on the side of caution but I agree.

This is starting to feel like Still has u-turned a u-turn.

could get a job in government.

Hopefully it’s sorted today or at least a good strong link then we can all start to relax before we get worked up about new signings
