Seems a bit weird timing that. Was clearly struggling for a while but was just looking like he had turned them round and had them playing in his style. Very odd.

 

My Ipswich mate worried now, said no chance McKenna would leave for Brighton or Man U but thinks he might for Chelsea

 

Chelsea innit. He'd finally got to grips with their mad recruitment and having a team consisting almost exclusively of injured children...

I would guess he also heard that they were going to be mental with recruitment in the summer too and was happy to get out of the madhouse.

 

Reckon they'll go for RDZ.

Madness from Chelsea, but probably sanity from Poch. He needed them to let him lead on transfers and obviously that they could not agree on.

 

Think he’s in that deluded stage a lot of our fans probably were in when they thought our players would stay loyal

He laughed his head off that he would even consider Brighton, said Utd would only be because of his previous connections there, but thinks Chelsea would be perfect for him with the amount of young talent there

I’ve long thought managers should jump ship more often if they have a great season in a lower league. Usually their stock will never be higher.

No idea behind the scenes if teams actually do rate them as highly as the media portray though

 

If any of those teams are in for McKenna, he’ll go. As we all know.

It really depends on how serious they are.

Not only that - it’s the right choice for him to go. Look at Kompany - a season getting destroyed in the PL and his stock has fallen completely after a brilliant championship season last year. McKenna would be mad to turn down a big money move. Such is life in football

 

Yeah - Kompany would have been on the fast track to being Pep’s replacement next year. That is not looking likely now.

There do seem to be Ipswich fans out there who think he will turn down all three of those clubs. Bizarre. They need a Forest style squad investment. Apparently they have super rich owners and that has given them some interesting ideas

 

They'll fare much better than Forest, as they don't need to sign like 20players.
