Pleased Dodds wasn’t in charge longer than he has as I would have feared we could potentially been faced with a relegation battle , no good blaming injuries quite simply we don’t have a clue since Clarke got injured and he hasn’t recovered his form . Our build up play is so slow and laboured it’s painful to watch we could have Ronaldo and Messi up front but even think they would struggle in our team at the moment . Dodds - out out out !!!

He’s missing the intelligent runs of Amad and Stewart, he beats his man and looks up and there’s nothing there, nobody to hit ! How people can’t see that is beyond me, he’s a great player at this level who’s been let down by his central strikers. The little issue of a bad injury seems to have bypassed people as well.
When was the last time he beat his man?

Other players in the squad have still found a way to have an impact. Even with them players in the squad he wasn't exactly creating loads.

Injury or not he's still played 1805 minutes and done absolutely nothing.
20 games then? Less with injury time etc. so not even half a season

I have high hopes for the summer if what i was told yesterday comes true.

I have to believe the owners have seen the mess this season has become and will act quickly to ensure we hit pre season running
I have high hopes for this close season. KLD is on a massive learning curve. For me he has done wonders so far considering where we were when he came in.
Last 6 months have been ropey sacking TM and bringing in Beale absolute disaster. However every faith KLD will learn from it. His family are football people and they are winners. Sentimentality will not come into it big changes coming behind the scenes. One huge decision to get right though. The new coach / manager.
I believe this is all but sorted. As long as he's progressive and gets us on the front foot fans will get behind him. Looking forward to the next couple of months Never a dull moment at SAFC

Our whole coach situation is on Speakman. Recruit better and we the Mowbray issue doesn’t kick off, same issue with Beale in the winter though some may disagree, then we have Dodds appointment and he has the same issue.

His game is all about beating his man and playing someone in, he hasn’t had a great season but to right him off after some bad injuries and the lack of quality up front is harsh.

No potentially about it. Dodds is way, way out of his depth. If we continue with him we will certainly be relegated next season.

If what I have been told is true, KLD is certainly taking ownership of this mess of a season.

What that means for others is for debate and rumours

I think he’s ultra talented but has no sense. He gets found out and is a one trick pony with rash decision making. After striker and cdm my third signing would be his replacement.

Wonder if willock is his replacement? Plays on the right, better output, ads balance a right footer on the right to get balls in for a striker, once we have a competent one

Great players make a difference themselves and dont need to rely on others

Roberts is an average championship winger imo, he has some wow moments for sure - when he is on it hes a joy to watch. Unfortunately he isnt on it often enough, even when he had his best seasons at celtic he would go missing a lot of the time

My issues with him are:
- too often doesnt get his head up when he gets the ball. This causes him to dribble into crowded areas far too often.
- he holds onto the ball for too long
- he offers zero goal threat, very rarely gets himself into goal scoring positions. Doesnt attack the back post etc
- defensively he is shocking

There is ability there but only so long people can say hes a talented player, he needs to put it all together

first thing he can do is sack Speakman Dodds Proctor next week that would give us some hope

I find the Roberts debate interesting. No doubting his season hasnt been good but we seem to be allowing the club a bad season but not some players. Maybe the two are related.

I think Roberts is well worth keeping personally. I think we have players to challenge him in Ba, Mundle and perhaps Willock if he arrives. I have seem Roberts a lot before he landed here. He has never been a goalscorer. What he is, when om song, is a player who drags defenders out of position, often gets doubled up on and that opens massive space for others. I think Amad benefitted from Roberts last season, and vice versa of course. Mowbray is a coach who loves flair and talent and he gives it licence. The way he talked about Roberts was clear, and the payback on the pitch was clear. Mowbray would often have to defend the assists stats, which have to be the most misleading of all stats, as Roberts would often be the man to create the opening for the assist, or get fouled leading to a goal. Under Beale and Dodds, who have both been about defensive setup, I am not surprised he has struggled. And if we are sticking with a horrendous 5 at the back formation Roberts has no place in that side. I also have a suspicion he isnt over his injury, he doesnt look as dynamic from a standing start.

For me I would keep him, but only if the club are planning on a front foot coach who wants creativity and knows how to harness it. Let him and Willock, or whoever it is, fight it out for a spot in the team. If he doesnt get his mojo back then next year is fine to let him go. There are bigger problems we need to fix this summer than Roberts imo.
