I have high hopes for the summer if what i was told yesterday comes true.

I have to believe the owners have seen the mess this season has become and will act quickly to ensure we hit pre season running

Thing I like about this forum is when I’m hot headed or irrational, there’s some good balance on here. But this self inflicted implosion really is a concern. I don’t the club is in crisis but If we repeat last summer then it’s hard not to see a big possibility of a relegation battle which would be unacceptable. I can accept a poor season, it happens especially for newly promoted teams but this second half has been worse that that and like you say a couple of wins here or there have kept us from being really nervy next week.

I do actually think we’ll get it right, the manager appointment is vital imo

Someone like Pompey may be interested. Were starting to see now why he hasnt been a success for any of his previous clubs beyond one season

Probably one of the best fixtures they could have asked for really in the circumstances.

I feel a certain amount of sympathy for Mike Dodds. He is not a head coach, but has been forced into the role because of other people's shortcomings.

He's been thrown under the bus by Speakman IMO, which has ruined the good reputation that Mike Dodds had as a development coach.

An appalling way to treat a valued member of the coaching staff by the board and senior management team.

Just had a nosey at his wiki, jesus i didnt realise his career had been this bad before signing for us. Barely any goals for any team hes played for and he's been constantly loaned out without anyone making his move permanent before we did.

He has had a longtime out through injury this season, hasn’t got anywhere near last seasons form admittedly, but if he does, he suddenly becomes a massive asset

Signings and back room, although the back room is more a departure

He’s said he wants the job though. I’ve seen nothing from him to tell me he’ll ever be a head coach. People said give him the job instead of Beale too.

A head coach, even if you’re thrust into it, needs to have the attitude to get players up for a game like this, Dodds has not got anything like that. After a Blackburn he said he didn’t give the players time to talk, well that, to me, is poor from a coach. After games like that, players sometimes need to be able to vent

Almost double the amount of minutes Aouchiche has had this season with so much less impact. Similar minutes to Ba with much less impact. You can't rely on a player who's bad form equates to a full season.

He’s missing the intelligent runs of Amad and Stewart, he beats his man and looks up and there’s nothing there, nobody to hit ! How people can’t see that is beyond me, he’s a great player at this level who’s been let down by his central strikers. The little issue of a bad injury seems to have bypassed people as well.

Other players in the squad have still found a way to have an impact. Even with them players in the squad he wasn't exactly creating loads.

Injury or not he's still played 1805 minutes and done absolutely nothing.

One day closer to a new manager/coach and back room staff. Boring set up today. Meh. May watch Hull v Ipswich later. Hull need to go for it as 3 points outside play offs. If only....
