"It feels like a loss. It's the most angry I've been, because we've thrown points away.
"I'm really, really disappointed with the result because we should have been out of sight at half-time, but there was a lack of ruthlessness from the positions we got into, and this isn't the first time.
"I'm not throwing anyone under the bus. I'm included, we have to be more ruthless, because even going back to Southampton we should have been 4-0 up at half-time, and again against Preston there was a lack of killer instinct.

"The bench gave us an impetus when they came on. They gave us a freshness and a quality player - Alex Pritchard - made a difference and the Juke coming on helped the team have a focal point, and he has a habit of scoring here, so good on him.
"If you take Saturday's game we have five games in 16 days, so we have to keep utilising the squad.
On the Hull goal being possible handball:
"I don't know how they failed to get that one, but again it's a decision that goes against us. Hopefully as the season unfolds we might get a decision that goes for us."

Somehow I'd be more confident Leeds away than Stoke at home. And that in a nutshell is the problem. We're ****ing good enough. Just lack that consistency in the final third.
Imagine if that exact thing was posted on here., the person would be absolutely slammed for it and branded negative.
Rosie is constantly shouting from the sidelines to get the ball to Giles or Jaden on the half way line but neither Greaves or Jones seem capable of passing a ball longer than 25 feet hence they just pass to each other or short into Seri or Morton.
When they go get their heads up to pass to the wings, it’s so telegraphed that our wingers have to run back into their own half to collect.
If we had a Huddlestone like passer in the team, it would be understandable but we don’t therefore it’s just a matter of keeping the ball in our own half

No....It's what the average City fan with half a brain expects...Been like it for more years than I care to admit...
Luckily Acun does know that Liam is currently outperforming his budget against at least 6 other parachute sides whilst being only 15 months from taking the worst defence in all 4 divisions out of a relegation battle with a hotchpotch of a squad.
As long as we don't completely collapse Liam has at least another year in the job, I'd say.
So if your logic he's out performing his budget because other teams have bigger budgets, then should we just accept that we'll never go up due to budget restraints etc.....Or do we need to find a manager who can out perform other teams rather than a club budget?
At least he is starting to admit he has made a mess of it now. Just wish the reporter had pointed out it has been happening all frigging season give or take a few games. There is no defending it anymore.

Not really. No.
But you have to accept not only are others spending more, they're also much better established and some of the Kieran Maguire 1904 ep touched upon how we've come from L1 finances to gap bridging in literally 4 windows.
We are in a position now to aspire, and that's really only happened since November 22. But just because we ended last season with a squad that cost 12m doesn't mean we're ready to compete with squads who ended last season with 400, 260, 180m squads coming down or even those that have had the benefit of sustained, stable investment for years on end.
I'm certainly not saying we can't dream, but I'm saying we definitely shouldn't expect. Bottom line is bottom line after all.

Of course the anomaly proves the rule.
But If you look at the stability in that possession based, playing out approach Ipswich have had, complete with teething issues over over 3 seasons now, then I wouldn't be sacking Liam anytime yet. Considering they only really came into consistent form second half of last season.

What has he done? He’s been in and out the side, prolonged spells out the team for what appears to be no reason, even when fit. I believe he’s still our top scorer too? Something has clearly gone on behind the scenes, there’s no other reason for it. Same with Sinik.
The exact outcome I feared on page 1 of the thread. Same old stuff; total dominance, total control, countless good positions, played through them at will, opened up massive gaps on the wings time and time again, but each time we seemed to overplay it, make a poor decision or a poor pass, and the end result is that as usual, almost none of those good positions ended with a serious scoring chance. Even the goal was out of absolutely nothing, and may even have been handball? 22 shots in total but half of them where utter ****e pot-shots going miles off target, many from crap positions, each one of them wasting another 30 seconds of the game while Birmingham took a goal kick.
I'm not all that frustrated because it's not at all surprising. It's the way we've been playing for a while. We're very, very good at some things like playing out through teams and creating space, but really, really poor at turning that into chances in the final third, and at converting the ones we do create. That's what we are as a team currently, it's not a one off. It's for Rosenior to find a solution, but it's also him to credit for the good aspects of our game which have got us to the position we're in, in spite of the attacking weakness.
