Under previous managers it was the managers responsibility now all of a sudden injuries bad luck and he hasn't got the players. Howe is not doing well and he's not trying anything. I think we all need to respect that we're all right and wrong to a degree. This blind faith nonsense though shouldn't override common knowledge of the game. So I think we can all agree that at the moment the form and formation and lack of reaction is a cause for concern. Nothing is going to happen manager wise until the end of the season at the earliest. Howe has time to turn this around but if we are outside of Europe at the end of the day then PIF have a decision to make. Not having a 3rd striker brought in, is criminal. Why buy Barnes when Gordon was brought in to make the left wing his own? We needed a RW with pace and a right foot. Hall could be the sub left winger as I dont see him as a left back but if that's the case then that is £100M of funds on the LW position. Tonali is an unfortunate one but he is also not a CDM, which we need. Goalkeeping - unfortunate but why do we have Gillespie, Dubs and Karius, we dont need 4 keepers with 3 that haven't played in years so take time to get up to speed. Stop giving contract extensions to the Ashley era players. We are paying a fortune for these and they should be nowhere near a top 8 team. Get rid and if no-one wants to buy them , then that confirms they are **** so why hold onto them? Have a strategy for the transfer windows and start early. Amazingly, I do watch the football and agree it’s not good but then put context and perspective into the equation and try not to make knee jerk over the top reaction. 1. More games at a higher and more intense level 3. We have had significantly more injuries this season than last plus more than almost all other Clubs. 4. Our main summer signing has hardly been able to play. 5. FFP kicking in and impacting on our aim to continue to improve. To then not expect one step backwards, regardless of the above, is naive in the extreme. IMO you’re busy trying to throw the baby out with the bath water.
Again, people are in an uproar, but the season is practically all but over. We are chasing a 7th at best at this point, we are not about to go on and win the FA Cup. I see no reason to make a change at this stage of the season, just wait until the end and then they can review it. I've never felt Howe is the future of this football club, just a stepping stone and won't budge from that.
