The problem is that he/his team will appeal, to a higher and higher court, up to and including the Supreme Court, which has a 6-3 majority of judges who are 'Conservative Minded', so are likely to overturn this judgement. He might not appeal, the Supreme Court might not overturn the decision that Trump does not have presidential immunity. Pigs might fly.

If the judges are genuinely judges- and not just sycophants- then they will rule against Trump. Being a conservative is supposed to mean MORE of a stickler for law.

He almost definitely won't win with SCOTUS, even with the conservative majority. They already punted on it once and clearly don't want to deal with it, because ruling in his favour opens such a massive can of worms (not least because it also means giving Joe Biden complete immunity). I doubt they even take it up as a formal case...he'll appeal, they'll affirm the appellate court in an unsigned opinion.

 

Dialogue and free speech are always the first steps towards brokering peace.

 

It's going to be 30 minutes of Carlson tongue-bathing Vladimir Putin as the saviour of western civilization, something he has been doing for years now. The Kremlin wouldn't have granted the interview otherwise, and I struggle to see how whitewashing Putin's reputation furthers the cause of peace.

An interview with Putin from a western journalist is a good idea. Anything that can de-escalate the war machine’s propaganda is worth a try.
