Don't often comment on games, but saw all of last nights so a few things that stood out to me.
Norwich a typical championship team, big players, bullying not stylish. We seem to want to be Barcelona or something. Carvalho got a right introduction to the championship, kicked, stood on, shoulder charged off the ball and it had an effect on him, definitely less in the game after a bright start. Philogene as many say would have been our saviour would have got the same treatment. We let their kid waltz through our midfield and defence for the first goal, where was our bruiser to take his legs from under him? They had so many yellow cards in the first half it set a tone for the game, we needed to get at players and the ref to get one sent off in the first half, we didn't bother and they subbed those on yellows at half time. Yeh the ref was crap but where was our captain or other gob on a stick giving it large to the ref, we don't have one and don't do it.
Positives not many, Matty Jacob did well again. An entertaining game, but no points for that.

Why don’t they never retrospectively dish out red cards for incidents like this?

Does nothing for us now, but if that had been a petty bitch slap he’d be looking at a retrospective ban for a far less dangerous assault.

Looking at their first goal it's hard to say who is most at fault but Tufan , Morton , Greaves , Coyle
and Allsop should have all done better.

We are definitely too "nice" or "soft" or whatever you want to call it

Players like Delap and Philogene make it difficult for opposition players because they're unpredictable and quick.

You need 11 players of that quality to get out of this league.

We've got 6.

Not arsed again, we played well and Gunn singlehandedly gained them three points. Sometimes keepers have worldies, just the way it goes.
Bigger picture is we're on a worryingly long losing streak. LR admitted he doesn't know how to fix the problem, the problem being we need to be more ruthless in both boxes - a pretty fundamental issue for a football team that wants to win matches.

Where are our vocal leaders on the pitch? We are too quiet as well as being too nice and too soft. we need a couple of players who are proficient at $hithousery. Every other club has them

The owners have paid to make a push this season.... will they do it again next season..... coach under pressure...
Good post TC. I was only thinking last night on the way home...It wouldn't surprise me in the least if, we finish lower than expected, the ownership decide on a change for next season. I think they'll have a go again next season. After that is anyone's guess.

Fair point. I don't know if Rosey is the type of manager who listens to his coaching team, but Daws was hardly a soft touch, and he must be able to see that we are getting bullied and we need that type of player? I seriously cannot believe that they can't see it. It has happened too many times - especially at home.

Injuries...Inundated with them!!

Ref...**** off, never in his born days!!

Possession...Never had as much as we're having lately but we're struggling to put the ball in the onion bag!!

All of this adds up to a pretty sh!tty/unfortunate run of form:emoticon-0148-yes:

Errrr, one more thing(anyone visualising Peter Falk, cigar in hand?).

We can justifiably blame all of the above, all valid, all fair BUT....

Is it normal to let a 5'8" 20 year old kid(albeit a tricky kid),waltz through 5 or 6 players and poke one,off balance and the ball under his feet, past a flailing goalkeeper who really should be getting a hand to it?

I'll guarantee here and now that the lad won't get another goal like it this season!!! Reason being,he'd be dispossessed fairly or put on his arse 25 yards out.

Philogene does.

Having reflected on last night, I do think part of our problem is having few threats on the field at the moment.

Tufan is a skilled player but easily marked out the game, Carvalho only been with the club a few days and Sharp clearly has a lack of pace.

However, it changes when Jaden/Connolly/Delap are back and/or another winger comes in.

All of a sudden, you’ve got to put at least 2 on Jaden to stop him. Meanwhile you’ve got to be wary of Tufan and Carvalho’s skill and Connolly’s pace. That’ll be a very difficult side to defend against.

We don’t carry the threat to go with the way we are playing right now. That’s mostly bad luck, but signs are there if can change.
