I agree with the support he is getting , a decent man and coach , mixed feelings at the time of his departure, and too early to judge whether it was the right thing to do, or not. After 4 games its not looking good tbh. only time and decision making by the triomikes will tell.
Mowbrays last 9 games = 8 points
Beales first 4 games = 7 points
In the 8 games since we sacked Mowbray = 13 points

Absolutely the right decision to sack him.

Wish him well as he’s a good man. Didn’t want him to leave. If the club had given him the fire power he needed and think he would have stayed. You live and you learn.HTL!!

Hope he does well, and I would expect him too. Not sure they are play off standard as a squad, but they do have some good footballers there. His record across his career suggests he gets the best out of his squad and maybe if they add a couple this window he will fancy pushing hard second half of the season. Pleased he is back in work so soon, he deserves to be in my opinion.

Wonder if he tries and get a couple of our current squad this window? 09 maybe?

12 pts from first 10 games.

Incidentally he also got 7 pts from first 4 games so not really sure what all the fuss is about re Beale
We're still picking up points so Beale certainly doesn't seem to be a downgrade on Mowbray, but he's not necessarily a better coach than Tony. If Beale is happier working within the parameters set by the club then he's probably a better overall fit.

He can have Dack, for a small fee, but not O/9 .

Just curious if he would even try, Birmingham appear to have a bit of cash and he did rate the players here. Not watched much of Birmingham this season so have no idea what players they would be looking at

I think he's well regarded as a good technical coach. Certainly the Rangers fans were full of praise for his work when we was assistant to Gerrard.
It's got to be better for everyone if the Head Coach is aligned with the way the club wants to work. Mowbray, for all his good points was never fully on board with how we want to do things. Beale seems as though he slots right in. The key part now is to win some bloody games

At the same point last season (26 games) we were in 6th place with 38 points and a GD of +9 (F38 A29)
This season we are on 40 points with a GD of +8 (F36 A28)

So, not a lot in it. What happens next is key.

Last season we took 31 points from our remaining 20 games to finish on 69 pts
If Beale takes 32 points from our remaining and we finish 8th (for example) is that a sign of progress? Or, do we demand a play off campaign to match last season (regardless of points tallies)?

Managers rightly do tend to prefer players they have worked with before and TM has as long a list as any, it will be interesting to watch his progress as you say. I wish him well whatever the circumstances, as he seemed to be a genuinely nice bloke and a credit to the NE.
