This social media stuff is interesting. Twitter and in particular RTG just don't reflect the views of the majority of our fans. Regardless of how much RTG in particular would like to think it does. They tend to normalize a minority view and think the whole world agrees with them. They are wrong. Not a glamourous exciting appointment but absolutely fits the bill as a modern progressive coach. Majority of our fans will quite rightly make their mind up when we see what happens on the pitch. It may all go wrong but there are no guarantees with any appointment
Appointment made & lets move on, others may know more than me but id never heard of some of the foreign coaches being mentioned, my worry with those was the initially would be potentially overwhelmed by size of our club & English game being different, especially lots of games over xmas etc & week in week out. I don't really get any of the negativity around Beale, he might have struggled at Rangers, dont know if he was classed manager but sounds like he was doing more than just be head coach....were not after a manager.....were not after a head coach to do more than head coach....we have a strong structure & the makings of a very good successful project...if that's what it wants to be called Beale has a very very impressive coaching record & as impressive if not more than any of those foreign coaches On that note.. @John 11:35 if yer cud hoy up the details of your earlier post on his coaching career.....does that record as a coach....were after a head coach.....not impress people?
I've already stated he wasn't who I wanted , if you'd asked me why I would honestly say because I've never heard of him and I've heard he's a dick other than that I'm not quite sure what I've got against him other than he's not will still who I would have preferred
well, i thought he sounded like the local vicar let's face it, apart from a couple of lads on here who tried to give us all some insight into these names that kept cropping up (cheers lads) we know feck all about any of them and the majority are simply going off what they have read about rangers, the job where he was actually doing ok until the owners messed with the staff and gave him more work to do that he did not expect. i feel sure he will have heard or read some of the comments floating around and be fully aware of his task...i just ask same as i always do when a new player comes in and that is 'give him some time', we might win a couple, we might lose a couple but at least give him the rest of the season afore the pitch forks come (back) out.
Happy with the appointment personally. As a coach he must tick so many boxes for the club. His first interview was good as well I thought. A hands on coach who wants to lead from the front. I think modern day players want what he is offering.
Absolutely true mate. Never listen to online views just say what i feel. Would say I’m surprised by how negative it has been online mind but as you say I’d be stunned if the crowd on Saturday aren’t 100% behind him and the team. I remember being delighted and buzzing when we appointed O’Neil, I was convinced moyes was a top quality appointment, means **** all, that’s why I’m not paid to make these big decisions at the club, on field decisions have been mainly very successful in the current regimes short period.
Feel sorry for him me. Coming into a club no doubt excited to do well with the back drop of an aggressive negativity. Our fans can be the best but this last few days has been a pretty bad look. Hope he gets to see the good bits.
I liked the interview tbh. I'm happy with what they have done with Dodds' role and I sounds like Beale is ready to get stuck back into coaching the players rather than being a bit of everything which is what it ended up being like at Rangers by all accounts. I'll back the bloke until the wheels come off, same as I would have done whoever got the job.
I think you're right, mate. However, you can't have the smooth without the rough. We are the best and the worst fans. That's passion and it's why we get 40k plus attendances. I've not enjoyed this board castigating fans for voicing their honestly held opinions, recently. MB might be the best thing that has ever happened to the club...but I 100% understand why folk have concerns. Love this board, but I think on occasion it tends towards contrarianism. We all love the club. Just because the majority aren't on board with a given decision... doesn't mean this board is right.
Yep. But it's easy for people to think this, that or the other, in these circumstances. Nature abhors a vacuum, so it gets filled up with guesswork. But they do things on the quiet here now mind, so they could easily have been talking to him more or less at the same time as talking to the others. None of it matters now though. He's our coach, he doesn't have to "win" me over. He's our coach and that's it.
Does the appointment show that we are just a development club these days, whether that be players or managers? We’ll bring people in develop them and send them on their way! So competing at the top level is a million miles away!
How does that theory balance against his record though? That tends to be a phrase to throw at someone who draws too many games, but Beale won 31 of 43 at Rangers and only drew 4.
No its how you get to the top, we develop players with the aim of keeping some n selling some. With the money you make you then reinvest it hoping for better Likewiee with head coaches, you are hoping with each appt you improve therefore getting a step closer to the top Its the most sustainable way of doing it
And that's what matters. Football is about what happens on the park and in the ground, not on a keyboard.
