Hopefully, but I can see a parallel between having world class candidates applying and SpeakmanSpeak regarding the current vacancy.
Yeah you're right I don't think it's the primary focus for profit with young players just a sustainable way to help us move forward without using the owners money, ending up in loads of debt like under short or incurring transfer bans like a few other clubs. If with the head coach still and beale interviewed just as good as each other but still cost 2 million in compensation (random figure) but beale is out of work so free the sensible option would be to hire beale, I would say personally. I think they have got the last 3 appointments right, like someone said on this thread Johnson started turning the tide after parkinson, Neil got the job done with promotion and Mowbray got us playing some brilliant football and into the playoffs. Got to trust they get this one right too.
They really really shouldn't. We signed Defoe the second time pretty much because of fan pressure, fans would've picked Roy Keane over Alex Neil, fans would never of appointed Mowbray, fans probably would've kept an injured Stewart, fans were very skeptical of the Amad signing, I seen plenty fans not happy with signing Clarke on a permanent. If our fans had it their own way we would sign 3 35 year old strikers on massive wages in January. The club should never listen the fans on footballing decisions.
it's clearly going to beale, but that lad sitting next to speakmen yesterday looked like will stills brother, won't be him, but looked like him
We have so many fans with numerous diverse views. I don't have any proof that the club were influenced in the way that you insist but stand by my view that the club should monitor the views of fans (which I think they do). That is why I will continue to be against Beale until he is appointed. Others presumably like yourself will accept that everything the club does or plan should be supported - we are different.
If the club go against their plan because of fan opinion I will no longer support this regime. That would be the stupidest thing they could ever do.
Whoever it is that comes in, will get my full backing, all that I’ve read he seems to be a very highly rated coach, something which I think will be a good fit, I don’t know much about him, but he’s going to have one hell of a job on his hands when we play the mags, get that right and people will be wanting a statue outside the ground for him let’s see how we get on with him and support him as we always do any head coach/manager. haway the lads
Whats the overall track records of managers got to do with this ownership group? Its like saying overall we have a poor recruitment track record so all signings are bad because of that. The last 2 were employed to get us out of L1 and then establish us as a championship club so therefore theyve been a success. It doesnt matter how or why they leave as long as the next one improves us Most fans wanted keane instead of Neil and imho he wouldnt have done as well. Most fans wanted defoe to return even though it was clear he was past it n not the route we were going. The club cant listen to fans on these sort of things as theyll never ever employ someone that all fans agree with. The club has to employ people to make these decisions as lets be honest speakman n co know more than us
A trifle OTT methinks. I would like to think (naively almost certainly) that the club haven't made a decision yet but are testing the water.
The club hasnt done anything yet tho (some would say thats the issue). You are criticising the club before anyone has been appt based on rumours. Fair enough they are rumours from very reliable sources but they are still just rumours Nothing wrong with saying i think he would be a poor choice as thats your opinion. But you are saying this board still listen to us as the track record of managers is poor, thats not on them
I'm sure that the board take account of our views and then make their decision - that's the way it should be.
I am a simple soul When he is appointed I will support him If our new manager gets us winning games and playing attractive football, I will be happy If he does not, I will not be happy And then I suppose he would be replaced We need to wait and see how he performs before we analyse if he is any good at the job
No it's not though. Any well ran club does not listen to fan opinion on football related decisions. Football fans are shortsighted, uneducated in the footballing world, too passionate to make level headed decisions.
I think you are confusing listening to and taking account of views with letting the fans make the decisions.
