Crystal Palace ready to offer Eberechi Eze £5m-a-year new contract.

Apparently, he only signed his last new contract two months ago (Man United are expected to bid for him in January).

His performance against us, while on loan at QPR, was probably the best individual performance I've seen from a player against us in the past ten years.

Is it more than 10 years ago when David Silva gave his masterclass after Kompany had been sent off? Tempus fugit.

Wondered. Couldn’t remember. That was the best performance have seen against City. The way Silva played dragging us about and making space it appeared Man City had the extra man,

Yeah. I thought we might have a chance when Kompany got sent off. How wrong!!

Is this just an Asian thing or a World thing where you must shake the officials hands?

No St John’s Ambulance no game. No police no game. Though it never crossed the minds of any of us to shake PC Nesbit’s hand before, during or after a game.

I remember doing a thread on how good he actually was in that game

It deserved one. It was a masterclass. Remember getting into an argument with some young fan in Polar Bear mouthing off about how we had been ****e not being able to beat ten men, he wasn’t happy when City lost etc, didn’t pay money to watch us lose to 10 men…I told him I wasn’t happy either but it was money well spent to see Silva as in my more advanced years it was the best display by an opposing player I had seen and in coming years he would remember it in the same way unless there was some truly remarkable performance.
Only twice have I applauded the opposition, Silva on that occasion and Burnley back in the early 1970s when they gave us a footballing lesson at BP though they only beat us 2-1. Colin Waldron dominated the game. They had a team that was hailed as going to be a great force, got promoted the following season I think, and then got split up.

I seem to remember a Chelsea game where Lampard was unplayable as well.

Regrettably, Lampard always seemed to score.

All things relative, and definitely not a piss take, Ryan Williams for Chesterfield (2000 ish) at Boothferry Park was a jaw dropping display. The fact it was Division 4 football and I’d never heard of him prior to that probably made it even better in my mind.

Yes, remember that display. Outstanding at that level.Sadly he never replicated it after we signed him.

He was after a move to a bigger club and got it too.
