Wow! What a last few minutes. Incredible NZ defence. The All Blacks were the better side, especially considering they had two sin bins, but they were such fine margins. Really feel for Ireland as this was their moment. Hard luck Nuts and lads.
Ahem. Despite this I expected Ireland to win, and to win the competition, and although I think the All Blacks just about shaded it, Jodie Barrett’s hold up the decisive moment, it could have gone the other way. Could this be New Zealand’s England 2019 v them moment? Surely they can’t get to that level again? Bad luck @QPRNUTS, the curse of the quarter finals.
A sad farewell to Sexton, he'll be sorely missed. Ake didn't deserve to be on the losing side, was immense all tournament. Kane is a monster player for the Blacks !
Better team on the night won Col. It wasn’t like we didn’t show up, they just dominated the breakdown. That wins games. We died with our boots on.
3 scrum penalties and a mis functioning line out cost Ireland.... couldn't build up a head of steam and go through the phases until the last few minutes....
Plus giving them soft penalty straight after they had missed one.... Keep it to 1 point and it was doable.... NZ defence was awesome
Got to say I feel somewhat devastated. Not for Wales...who did their best, but were not quite good enough....but for Ireland. Best team in the tournament, best Irish team in several lifetimes...and beaten on the day by a team that matched them...and knew just how to win. This is just so sad
What an incredible game, both teams gave it their all but it came down to fine margins. Ireland had their chances but couldn't take them. NZ's defence was off the scale. It would've made a great final and it was good to see both teams turn up on the night. That's two disappointing results in one day.
