Good Morning. It's Tuesday 10th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road
Whites fans angered by Greenwood clause
Leeds fan took to social media in their masses to voice their displeasure, after it was revealed that Middlesbrough have an option to buy Sam Greenwood for just £1.5m.
The 21yo joined the Whites from Arsenal back in 2020, setting them back in the region of £3m; half paid up front, and the other 50% dependent on appearances. He was instrumental for the U21's and U23's, forging a deadly partnership up front with Joe Gelhardt, but, just like Joffy, found the integration to the first team more difficult, managing 26 senior appearances thus far.
The general consensus was, that Greenwood would return to Elland Road next Summer stronger, fitter and more experienced, giving him a better chance of breaking into Daniel Farke's midfield next season. Giving a local rival the option to snap up an England U21 International for such a paltry amount has angered many, especially after such a difficult Summer, losing so many players either on the cheap or on loan.

Farke dismisses 'changing of the guard' speculation
Daniel Farke has dismissed speculation that it's time for a changing of the guard, after both Luke Ayling and Liam Cooper were left out of the starting line up at beat Bristol City at the weekend.
Messrs Cooper, Dallas and Ayling may be approaching the twilights of their careers, but the gaffer believes the experience they have built up over their careers could be invaluable this season, and will help develop the younger players.
As Farke points out, Leeds fielded one of the youngest line-ups in decades against the Robins, but insists that their leadership qualities will be essential this season, if they are to reach the promised land, come May.
“It’s always good to have him because he’s a leader together with Luke Ayling, both with experience leading the group. I’m pretty grateful that they were also there today as leaders with the group because we had an average age in the starting line-up, I don’t know exactly how young it was, but must be one of the youngest in the last decades here for Leeds in a league game.
“We need this leadership and for that Liam and Luke are really, really crucial and although they perhaps both would have preferred to play each and every second, they were outstanding in the dressing room and I can just praise their characters and their behaviour and how much they are there for this group. This is crucial.”

Farke worth his weight in gold
It's less than 100 days since Daniel Farke took the reigns at Elland Road, and although he's had to deal with a mass exodus of players, others refusing to play, and has had to integrate almost an entirely new starting line-up, Leeds find themselves comfortably within the confounds of the play off zone after their first eleven games.
Not only that, but the Whites have only shipped eleven league goals all season; only Leicester City have a better defensive record. He's transformed the fortunes of players like Pascal Struijk and Georginio Rutter from squad players to integral parts of his set-up and has created harmony from an otherwise toxic atmosphere.
To see such a massive change in such a small amount of time deserves kudos, and although its still early days, Leeds are definitely going in the right direction.

Yep we've still got some usesTotally agree we still need Ayling and Cooper around the team. Bringing the young team up
around experience is the way we have had success under Don Revie and is always the way we should do it as far as I’m concerned.
I agree as long as they’re good enough to hold down a starting place. Never sure about the “they’re great in the dressing room”. Surely that’s the coaching team’s job?Totally agree we still need Ayling and Cooper around the team. Bringing the young team up

I had my contract cancelled years ago.Yep we've still got some uses![]()
If they’re that good in the dressing room how did final six game Collapse of last season happenI agree as long as they’re good enough to hold down a starting place. Never sure about the “they’re great in the dressing room”. Surely that’s the coaching team’s job?

ffs they all knew well in advance they’d be leaving the sinking ship if relegation happened.Probably because the so called international stars who played for us last season couldn't give a toss what jouneymen like Cooper & Ayling have to say. Whereas this season's squad are more humble and might actually value when a senior pro is trying to assist them with their career. If they’re that good in the dressing room how did final six game Collapse of last season happen
Agreed but also hard to win matches when we weren't fit enough.Imagine trying to inspire that rat infested dressing roomffs they all knew well in advance they’d be leaving the sinking ship if relegation happened.

They are players and need to be good enough, I just don’t buy this experienced pros can help when sitting on the bench. Whilst playing then all day long during a game.
Yep. All the debate and they all ignored Pep, who said the premier league is becoming all about the refs and VAR officials who seem to be enjoying the limelight and no longer about the players and the clubs who should be centre of attention.VAR - what is good for ?
Really enjoying celebrating goals, or the immediate head in hands moment when you realise the flag is up.
Honestly how on earth did we ever get to the stage where at the highest levels of football this most basic of requirements was taken away from us.
Pep is a blinkered arse though like all of them.Yep. All the debate and they all ignored Pep, who said the premier league is becoming all about the refs and VAR officials who seem to be enjoying the limelight and no longer about the players and the clubs who should be centre of attention.
He’s right though. All the focus is about bloody refs and not the football. Loving the championship.Pep is a blinkered arse though like all of them.
The only possible exception is Bielsa as he allowed the opposition to walk a goal in to retain the sporting integrity of that particular match.
Can you imagine Klopp or anyone else ever doing that.
Aahh the good ol' days, tumbling around the gelderd like a mad thing, finding you'd travelled yards away from your original position hugging fellow fans on the journey downwards before clambering back to your own matesVAR - what is good for ?

.... the epitome of having a good time watching hopefully a win and a few beers afterwards especially after grafting all week... now been taken over by faceless officials in a box going over miniscule details about someone's eyebrow It's always been about the refs and assistants though but everyone just accepted it and got with the game. He’s right though. All the focus is about bloody refs and not the football. Loving the championship.
No, not like this, waiting around for ages whilst VAR reviews, the ref running over to a monitor, a whole week of talking about aVAR decision not the match. Ref watch and refs miked up ffs. It’s making me turn off premier league football, it’s killing the game as a spectacle and needs scrapping now. We used to moan about a poor decision and move on. Now the officials are becoming centre of attention and I don’t want to watch them. It's always been about the refs and assistants though but everyone just accepted it and got with the game.
England's controversial 1966 World Cup Final goal for example.
