Aye i remember that, just meant foreign teams were still able to sign players from english teams but the english teams then couldnt replace them so made it worse

Amad added quality and goals both of which we lack. I think quality and goals are what we are missing. Don’t care if they’re loans or age personally but we need to add some game changer players in the right places.

Well exactly. To be a talented, top quality game changer you don't have to be experienced in this league which is what those individuals are saying our signings have to be.

He was making a point, how else can he make a point if no one is listening after all this time. If they want promotion but won’t buy anybody to score goal’s don’t look at TM as the problem. Would they buy another goalkeeper if all ours were injured or just try and get one in their own time?

Yeah would only really work if the rest of the major leagues followed suite. Think at the time they thought that's what would eventually happen, it just ended up being a mess in the end.

Remember when we signed Amad some where desperate to point out he’d flipped for Rangers.

Doesn’t matter what the club do there’s a section of our support desperate to pick it apart or for it to fail so they can get the knives out.

I assume these folk are all in high flying jobs with flawless career records, and get everything done in record time.

People need to stop going into full on jealous husband defence mode if someone dares to question the hierarchy or say they aren’t happy with something. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

We all want what’s best for the club, people are allowed to be frustrated just like others are allowed to count their bless we aren’t still stuck in L1 with a piss poor squad.

What I will say to this....in the real world (outside of football) if a senior executive of the business had to deliver certain criteria to ensure growth and if its a listed company...make sure the changes will reflect in the share price that will satisfy shareholders. Then a timescale is normally implemented...Football is clearly different yet at the same time the model is similar. I know for sure If I was tasked to achieve the balance for the company either by recruitment or acquisition that would relate to market conditions and this hadn't been achieved in the agreed timeframe...my role in the company would be under consideration. The difference between real world and football world is the immediate nature of football. Looking from the outside, it looks like SAFC doesn't have such a planned timetable in place, yet they are asking the manager to deliver....hence the issues highlighted today

I believe that pattern is deliberate and I expect nothing better than a play off spot this year. If we don’t make that then yes it would be underwhelming. If however we get stronger and stronger as season goes on we could be finishing as the form team Progression can be in squad development and positioning for future seasons without necessarily improving the league finish.

I can’t get my head around the Seelt signing. I’ve got a feeling he will go onto be a really good player for us. But we’ve got loads of CB options. If funds are limited, why spend around £2 mil on another CB. Let’s say we have a budget of £3 mil for a striker (I don’t think that’s unrealistic given the Lihadji/Bell sales.) Seems unnecessary to buy Seelt, would we not be better with a £5 mil striker budget.

signing Seelt suggests we do have money to spend, but the clock is ticking. It would have been much nicer to see Hemir make his debut against Crewe than Ipswich.

It's never as simple as that though is it. There is a reason why so many deals go down to the last week of the window as clubs are waiting other clubs to do their deals before they can sell or buy.

The politics of having different transfer window dates to the rest of Europe doesn't work in my opinion. Especially now where championship clubs are using the European market more than ever.

I understand your point here and agree to an extent. But I dont think our budget is a static thing. I think it stretches for the right player.

I don't the issue is we dont have (for example) £4m to spend on a striker. I think the problem is we can't find a striker for £4m that the club think is worth £4m. (I have picked that number out of thin air).

Its a problem not unique to us, although I appreciate it feels like it. You only have to follow a few people on twitter to know pretty much every Championship club is trying to find a striker.
