Lavia is 19 years old, if he becomes our player we can have him for the next ten years or me.

1) if he proves good enough to keep - lots have shown promise and failed at his age at this level (a level far higher than Southampton last year) So it’s all a bigger risk than a slightly older, more developed player imo

2) and if he does make it big, who’s to say he’d want to stay for 10 years.

too many ifs and buts tbh, just gotta trust the club gets it right

I'd put it more like
Will real buy mbappe and then who needs to be shifted.
I don't see any reason for brighton to want to sell caicedo on the last day if they resist to that time. They have the contract length as the boy is an idiot.
I am not so sure we want 2 CMs at this point or really want a CM and CB.

Currently I do think his no 1 line up has a box midfield with trent moving in beside SOMEONE and szoboszlai and macallister up the park causing utter mayhem. I think he will be happier that he has jones playing ok to cover LCM and elliott for RCM but he really then is looking at thiaog, bajectic and morton as odds and ends.

My view would be when thaigo goes then a CM becomes his next thing IF bajcetic isn't in his thoughts.

Currently the CB situation is scary. Konate is a bit of an injury concern. gomez scares me, his confidence is gone. Matip is shot through so IMO the really obvious issue is CB AND if he buys a LCB then he's got that option you love of dropping robertson to make this a proper 3223.

IF I were klopp then I'd be thinking cover that off and focus on the two major comps. theres a great excuse this year to play kids all over the domestic cups and peoepl will buy it.

Look at the line up he might have (given he needs b list players for europa as well)

Quansah, Bradley, Chambers, Koumetio, Clark, Doak,Bajectic, Morton, Mcconnel, Scanlon, Koumas, Cannonier, Frauendorf, Gordon, Mrozek. Theres barely a reason play a senior player bar to give a run out to gomez and kelleher.

If the decision is to spend it all on Lavia now then my big worry is CB. I really don't think we have that covered.
Why would anyone consider dropping the defender with the most assists in PL history?

Chelsea and United are in the running now as well, especially if Amrabat goes to Saudi Arabia and Caiceido is forced to stay at Brighton. I don't think Liverpool are serious, tbh. Pretty certain FSG are done spending for this window, tbh. Should have known it was all bullshit when their client journos were wintering about a "£250m war chest".

Macca and Zobo probably used up that £250m when you consider the package rather than just the transfer fee

:emoticon-0150-hands pleased to meet you

let's me reprise my views on Mr rainbow laces especially as clearly you've never heard about how he's a spinless gutless monet grubber who's thrown every good cause it the window to chase the filthiest blood money in sport today.

Never knew Hendo was an art thief, the Raffles of our dressing room apparently!

This Andre link doesn’t seem very lfc. We don’t often go for the South Americans right out of SA. Normally want them to have a year or two in europe first then pay the extra £20-£30m for them once proven.

Is this a new riskier approach? Or just paper talk to try get saints to accept a lower fee

Klopp quote on the Mbappe links:
"I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there's nothing to it."It's possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me, but that hasn’t happened in the eight years that I've been here.
:)

Guess it's not the French Benjamin Andre that plays for Lille <laugh>

so andre is hardly "the giant" a short arse with a penchant for cards of various colours he does seem to have his head screwed on as he rejected Fulham and forest in January as his wife was due to drop a baby.

if we are in for this guy we will have to pay his club off as they are mid-season it seems.

just made brazil debut and apparently has been scouted multiple times over a long period.

we will see if it's real or not.

#6 doesn't have to be a giant to be effective. The best do seem to pick up a lot of cards Hopefully not too many red though.

There's always a risk with 19year olds (whether its Lavia,.or Bellingham)... At 22, Andre has passed a lot of the developmental risk stage. Now, I don't know how good he is, if he's as good as Lavia... But in general, less risk with a 22y/o than a 19y/o and still lots of life left in their career.
