Aye, we've never had a fascination with soap down here - thankfully there's no B O on a forum. As usual, effluent tends to find its' own level - welcome back.
I prefer to think we’ve just popped in for a visit. A bit of missionary work, pat the natives on the head, and then it’s back to civilisation
Unfortunately you don't always get what you prefer. Anyway us natives like a bit of a pat now and again - as long as it isn't in an innappropraite place.. The mighty Leeds being replaced by Luton town - now there's one for the scrap book.
Just a quick reminder of how demanding the Championship can be. Last season Middlesbrough won 22 games scoring 84 goals and yet finished 4th a massive 16 points off the automatic spots. Blackburn won 20 games and finished 7th. Tough tough league where you usually need 50 points just to avoid relegation.
Some good news. Away ticket allocations will be far larger than the standard 3000 in the PL and was reading yesterday how Man City allocate 5% of away tickets to 18-24 year olds so they can attract and keep a younger generation of fans, also those younger fans need not have previously attended away matches to enter the ballot. Perhaps we should do something similar but make it 10% and instead of the same fans getting tickets for every away match we could introduce a random ballot for another 30% of the tickets to all age groups. What about home matches as well, should something be done ?
We’re looking at upgrading our trips to six next season so might be an idea for you locals to buy a few shares in the pubs round there
Fair point but you'll still have 90% of the capacity for your own lot. Will you get bums on all those seats as well as the ones you'll have on the pitch?
As long as we're in and around the play offs then yes we will. However a season of mid table mediocrity would probably see a drop off in attendances after xmas.
True but there is no away ticket price cap in the Championship so we'll be charging them double as only half as many are coming
The clubs organisation of allocating tickets in a fair manner is woeful, they 100% couldn't give a **** once the gates were open in the PL, don't expect any kind of organised system now. But if things go badly and attendances start to drop off, we can all expect the grovelling emails from Kinnear.
New owners might see things differently regarding growing the fan base amongst the younger generation. Probably won't of course but hey you never know.
You would hope so mate, I know we've lost a few young fans, mid teens, who now go and watch their football elsewhere, maybe they'll return but the way the club handled the situation was horrendous.
I blame the parents, most of us were brought up to follow leeds like our elders and then pass this on to our own children.
And that's what's happened but kids these days have more options especially one's living outside of Leeds, with regard to watching non Leeds games live. They got pissed off by the club and thought **** em.
