I reckon our style of play is set in stone now. We have been crying out for a few big lads for the reasons you mention though, as it happens the ones who have been linked can all play football anyway.
Yup. Agree. We have a style/identity now but we still need to be able to do the dirty stuff. Don't think a back line of Hume-Ballard-Batth-Cirkin gets bullied at corners by Luton

20 year old Aussie defender Nectarios Triantis. Fancy name so I’m in.
Had a quick look at his stats:
Completes 87% of his passes, mostly plays short but he does attempt an average of 8 long passes a game - completes 50% of long passes
Wins 60% of overall duels
Wins 56% of his aerial duels
Averages just short of 5 interceptions a game
Has on average 12 recoveries a game

All the stats look really good, only just turned 20 last month as well so very promising

His team are on BT sports tomorrow at 11am so might give it a watch

Don't you think SAFC will have looked into this and made sure he could get one before offering his club 500k?

of course we would have, which is why he obviously will get one. Doesn’t mean I understand it any more :D

it’s meant to be based on full international appearances or size of fee / wages, with different parameters based on the countries world ranking.

somehow he must sneak in but I can’t work out how (not that it matters)

Think because he has a few caps for their U20 team and they are ranked 29th in the world helps us get his permit

My (potentially outdated) understanding from a couple of years ago was that only senior international appearances counted. And based on 29th world ranking he'd need to have played in 50% of Australia's games in the last 2 years.

He's played regularly in the A-League but in work permit terms thats one of the lowest rated leagues (band 6) in terms of gaining points and so would only gain him 2 of the 15 required points.

As I say above, it’s irrelevant because obviously he’s getting one or we wouldn’t bid. I’m just intrigued how he gets through the criteria.
