It really is weird how incidents like that are always deliberately made to sound more dramatic through the use of certain language. It reads as if they've specifically been briefed to call it a grenade throughout, to make it sound worse than smoke bomb.
They keep changing their headline, earlier it was a WWIi era grenade. If only it was as difficult to smuggle a 'missile' in as it is to navigate their site. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Where as HDM headline for RL fans would probably be 'enthusiastic best game in the universe fans help with end of season divot flattening and reseeding and have a jolly cuddle with best mate opposition fans...'
2 cars bump in the car park.. HDM headline… City fan crushes other car in a WW2 German Panzer like automobile.
and like a recent anti immigration meeting in Queen Victoria Square, the driver described as 'looking like Adolf Hitler'.
Some daft buggers thinking it was a grenade is the main concern. Stuff has been thrown on the pitch at rugby matches but you don’t hear of banning orders. The usual making out City fans are a bigger cause for concern than Leeds, Chelsea, Millwall fans and others. And a good reason for even more police, stewards and segregation, which is already over the top compared to elsewhere.
To be fair he did, and he'll know it himself. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Can't deny that describing it as a grenade then later as a missile is intended to form an image in the reader's mind. Edit to add that they also said they called in a special police unit to deal with said item, one step away from the bomb squad I presume.
It was an actual grenade according to the HDM - 'Incredibly, one of the items thrown onto the MKM pitch during a game was an old-fashioned army grenade, which upon discovery during the game was moved by the referee and then required the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit to be called to safely dispose of it post-match'. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...1XnewyMYP5xiI3h1PqelO1wIKA4cb7VWazBuhgrKkL4II
That's the article most are referring to. It's clearly bullshit for the reasons already mentioned. The punishment for just having an actual grenade, never mind throwing it in a public place would be far more than the slap that lad got.
Close but not close enough to convince me! Hitler never had a megaphone growing out of his Right hip...FACT.
I wondered if it could of been a toy grenade, if you want to be shocked at what is available Google toy grenade. "suitable for 5+"
