That... Maybe not, to open up discussions. Nothing gets concludes this early, but it was round about this time of year we started seeing reports of us making approaches for Darwin (even though there was a lot of uncertainty for a while later).
I doubt the veracity of it though coming from Marca... And I just don't expect us to pay so much for one player when we have so many holes to fill.

Not entirely true. Just can’t register him as a first team contract, only on a youth contract that expires end of this season. Won’t happen though. He doesn’t wanna leave.
They’ll just give him a new deal at end of season when they move a few other players on.

Rabiot would be an even less lfc signing than balotelli! Absolutely pain in the ass, and his mother who is his agent is even worse. Wouldn’t get on with klopp at all.

I think it's more Rabiot angling for a move to LFC (or anyone really) rather than the other way around.
It's sad because a few years ago I would have loved him but now I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Nit-picking I know but he had a first team contract that has had to be cancelled (or revoked) and returned to an academy contract. The academy contract doesn't expire at the end of the season it runs until 2026 with a clause that says if he isn't registered as a first team player for the 23/24 season, he can leave as a free agent.
I agree with you that he doesn't want to leave Barcelona but he has the option to in the summer.
barca took them to court to reverese this in january and won so the player has a contract.
La liga have appealed to get this court ruling lifted so they can go after barca again.
Barca need to clear debt apparently to register players. I am not really sure how this works but we can absolutely forget about gavi being available on a free.
Barca will do what barca do to avoid this. He is there no 6 for next 10 years and no way in hell that is changing.
That's the bit that I keep addressing. A judge has ruled that the contract be cancelled and his senior registration suspended. He has an academy contract. If he isn't registered as a senior player for the coming season he will be a free agent. That doesn't mean he will leave. I think he wants his career to be with Barcelona and nobody else. It hasn't stopped other clubs getting excited about it though.
