You haven't played a lot of Football have you? You are very passionate though, I'll give you that. Sometimes in life, people take advantage of you.

But it seems Ros doesn’t see this particularly as an issue and is absolutely fine with Doc, Slater, Woods.

I don't think he is at all. But it's the middle of Jan and it's always tough to do business. I think if somebody came in with an offer to take Woods, he'd be gone tomorrow

For all the clamouring for Tufan to start, when he came on he was presented several chances to shoot and he instead passed it backwards or sideways. Not sure what people are seeing in him that they think is amazingly more creative or solid than Slater who actually tries to get forward.

bloke was on a level with their midfield if not more talented, he starts or free him.

I just don't get how this is new to you. Do you not remember Koren being benched at times for Alex Bruce and Meyler to play in midfield? Or Bullard sitting on the bench because Ashbee and James Harper were the favoured combination? It happens all the time at every club. Very often the most talented midfielder isn't the most effective and they struggle to get a place. Rosenior has come in with no prior connection to these players and decided that he prefers Slater to Tufan. He isn't doing it for a laugh, he obviously thinks he offers us more.

There was a moment tonight where Berge just breezed past Tufan with a single touch and he just didn't seem to have the energy or fight to do anything about it, that kind of thing might be part of why he's often left out. You can say that we've been equalising in home games after he's come on, but equally it's true that we've been getting those equalisers after League 1 Lewie has come on every time. A question of cause and effect perhaps.

Liam has realised Tufan is more effective coming on when the opposition is starting to tire in the 2nd half. He doesn't give as you say 90 minute of energy like the likes of Slater or Docherty. Slater does a lot of unnoticed work and usually makes himself available, often just a simple pass but it has its purpose.

First and foremost I thought it was a very good game to watch, and a real derby game with all that goes with them. After a sluggish start, when we were caught on the hop for the goal, I thought we slowly grew into the game and 2nd half was the better team.

Such a shame Tetteh rose to McBirnie's obvious ploy to unsettle him. They saw Tetteh was causing problems, and I am sure McBirnie was told to go and ruffle his feathers. Probably not to get him sent off, just to upset the rhythm of the game, as we were building pressure on them. However, Tetteh did the stupid thing and was goaded into reacting. He's a big loss now for 3 games, he needs to learn quickly from this.

That aside I thought we performed well, standout for me were Ingram/Jones/Seri and Connolly, also Longman when he came on. I really like Connolly he is a real nuisance and can see why Liam brought him in. Given 2 or 3 matches, he could well play a big part.

I am not sure about the Coyle/Christie combination on the right, I just feel it doesn't work so well. Longman on the right looked like a real threat, so Malcolm or Ryan ahead of Christie looks like a better bet maybe.

I agree with those saying Seri needs to be taken off free kicks, he just doesn't seem to get the right delivery. When Elder and Honeyman were combining the deliveries were much better, so we need to find a similar option to improve the ball into the box.

Overall nothing to complain about the performance, we gave a very good team a real game, and on another day may well have got a point, and on balance, what we probably deserved last night.

I also have no idea what people see in Tufan, I’ve seen him lose loads of 50/50s, I’ve never seen the bloke play a key pass in a game (which the stats support). He never makes a pass more than 5 yards. He lacks drive and energy when he starts which both Doc and Slater have in abundance. Doc isn’t the answer long term, obviously and Slater needs to stop been played out of position but for Tufan to play in the higher echelons for a decade he is overall very poor. If someone offered me over 1 mill I’d snap their hand off.

Tufan is amongst the most exciting players I’ve seen at City in nearly 50 years. It’s a pleasure to see someone as gifted with the ball. It’s also great to see him trying to get himself fit and clearly buying into our ethos. I’ve seen him chase back for lost causes. Some on here though have also noticed he also has a knack of just losing concentration and forgetting to close down a player or back track.
The game has changed. Best XI does not exist anymore. Tufan atm is suited to coming on for the second half/ 60 mins.

Tufan could be massive for us this season.

But it's consistency over 60 mins that's stopping him starting...

If that makes sense.

In all fairness Berge was doing it to everyone bloke was unreal.

Good points IE Coyle etc, thought Longman was good yesterday and played like his old self.

But he's foreign so he should be in the team. The game changed when he came on.. because of Longman. <laugh>

I think Rosenior's primary plan with that starting 11 was to match their energy. It sounds like Sheff have been steamrolling teams of late and I could sense that from their play in the early part of the game. I thought that the players put in a phenomenal effort against a team fighting for top honours. From what their presenters and manager were saying, many teams have gone there and parked the bus, Norwich included, so I'm delighted that we went toe for toe with them. Many other teams may have suffered a hammering for attempting such bold tactics.
Yes, there was a limited final product, but I am confident it will come sooner rather than later.

Re Berge.. thats why Liverpool were/are wanting him (likely to replace Henderson at some stage)... but funnily, the Sheff Utd boards were saying he's been really poor of late. He breezes past people because he takes half the strides of other players... to my eyes at least..

BTW .. NO MOM thread..?

For all the moaning on here about how many awful players we apparently have, Sheff U fans seemed to think we played ok.

I thought we played really well. Just still missing that bit of quality in the final 3rd (final ball and finish). A draw would have been a fair result.
