The joy of playing Man City is that they'll probably put out their 8th team at kick off. If we nick a lead then thirty minutes before the end they pile on £800,000,000 worth of talent and all we have to do is withstand a third of a game. Those who know me will be amazed to find out that this thought pattern has left me full of optimism for the game and loaded with genuine belief that we can nick this. Vin
Obviously didn’t research how fans felt about the playing style of our most recently successful manager M.Puel
Nathan Jones has promised that he's going to play both a back 4 AND wing backs This will be in his revolutionary new 6-1-3 formation, designed to both shore up the defence against City AND provide ideal counter attacking (hoof it clear and chase it) opportunities. Bazunu KWP Lyanco DCC ABK Salisu Peraud JWP Edozie Adams Armstrong (yes I know ABK is injured, but he's vital to Jones' plan so he's being wheeled out anyway)
Even that is probably too charitable to Hughes. When he took over, we were 17th, and averaging 0.93 points/match. At the end of the season, we were 17th, and Hughes had brought in 1.00 points/match. Hughes' accomplishment was that he basically maintained the same level in eight games as Pellegrino had previously, which is arguably the harshest thing I've ever said about a person.
Ive only just noticed that City's next game is the early kick off away against United, so you'd hope he would continue to play the reserves. Although City's reserves still include a front 3 of a world cup winner, premier league winner and the most expensive English player of all time, so not sure how much help it'll be.
