Wow. I remember watching him play for Sampdoria when Serie A was first on Channel 4. Loved him as a player and always thought he came across as a really spot on guy.
RIP. A legendary footballer. A proper part of my Sunday afternoons in my youth. Seemed like a top bloke too.
RIP Gianluca A truly decent bloke! If the world was made of people like him it would be a better place
Echo everything that's already been said. Top player, one of the ones to watch out for on Football Italia back in the day and always seemed to be a really decent, down to earth bloke. RIP fella.
Top player...but more importantly he came across as a genuine, really nice bloke and someone who was vastly loved and admired.
That 96-99 era Chelsea used to be on terrestrial TV quite a lot in the UEFA Cup or the cup winners cup, I used to enjoy watching them as they played good football. Vialli a big part of that too. Incredibly sad, cancer is a bastard. RIP fella.
Was one of the players at the top when I first got heavily into football on the mid 90s..Part of a great era for me.
