Nah but there were multiple accounts with millions of combined followers that jumped on the misinformation all at the same time. How else would people totally uninterested in Andrew Tate end up regurgitating the info?

LTL, I did see your post. And it’s mostly the same regurgitated stuff from the past about Tate. Most of it is his jokes taken out of context. All of what he did in terms of his webcam business was consensual. He ran a webcam/only fans business and then took a cut of what the girls made.

I agree that it is morally dubious. But if it was all consensual and above board, which he has stated many times is the case, then I don’t think he should be classed as evil for that. (Again - unless it gets proven true. In which case he should be given the harshest possible sentence.)

Have you seen any press at all about the millions he donated to women’s charities? Or the male suicides he prevented and young men he has helped?

I said before that there is a reason why he is resonating enough to become one of the most famous people in the world - and I really do believe that is worth thinking about.

It’s easy to dismiss his entire message as “incel” and “misogynistic” etc, especially when that is what is being forced out through all the headlines.

But a more interesting conversation is around his main point and the reason why he has become famous so quickly:
There are a huge amount of young men out there essentially being told by the mainstream media that they are evil for being young, white males. They are told that they are the beneficiaries of an evil patriarchy and that they are subjugating women and other cultures.

Tate is saying “No, **** that. Be proud of who you are, work hard and aim to build a better life for yourself, your woman and your family.” And that simple message has catapulted him to global stardom.

I am not one to really care about celebrities, and I certainly wouldn’t want to defend a human trafficker if he has been doing that. But it is fascinating to watch it all unfold. And I maintain that he has some very good points about society and life in some of the interviews I’ve heard.
I do wish you’d at least consider that it was simply incorrect information rather than deliberate misinformation. With the usual question of “who does it benefit to make up the story about the pizza box?” Arguably it makes Greta look like she came off even better in the exchange. But given that by all accounts the pizza story started among Romanian reporters I can’t see why they would be interested in boosting her. Sure others promoting it might have had that objective. But the original source? Unlikely

I agree with part of what you say about dismissing his message as being “for incels”. I argued as much the other day when he came up before the arrest stuff. It is the same as the people who will try and claim that Jordan Peterson is “king of the incels”. I mean how to tell someone you have never listened to him without actually saying you have never listened to him.

But this was the point I made the other day - the term “incel” has become one of those words used so broadly and in such different ways it is almost losing meaning. For example it is now the almost the go to insult used against any man who says something a woman doesn’t like. Not exclusively if it is perceived as anti woman but most of the time. I’ve seen it thrown at people who are known to be married with children

Tate remanded in custody for 30 days at request of Romanian police:

Not good all around.

If they’re guilty - innocent people hurt
If they’re innocent - it’s awful that such tactics can be used

And the fact Greta thunberg and legions of her social media accounts have laughed about it shows her true nature. That anyone can listen to her, about anything, baffles me

I’m not sure you can’t do both at once.

- Be very sad for victims
- Be amused at a self proclaimed alpha male, who sells himself on being a big time hit with women, being found to, let’s just say, not be quite so reliant on charm/Charisma/“Game” or whatever as he claims

But maybe that makes me a bad person. Perhaps when the full details come out and if he is found guilty then it will be a case of revising and stating that it isn't funny at all

But Greta and co seem to be laughing at the theory that he doxxed himself trying to save face in his exchange with her. Which is unlikely to have been the case but if you work on the assumption it was then objectively it is funny because he had no need to pick a fight with her unprompted between Christmas and new year. Or any time. If he is as wealthy as some people believe he doesn’t really need to clout chase surely ?

Os, you are totally right that young white men need a figure who speaks up for them right now. The impoverished white male has appalling life chances in the UK and yet is often spoken about in the same breath as the middle class or elite. There is no white privilege if you are born with nothing.

That said, we don’t want men like Tate to fill that void. We need positive white figures who are not filled with anger and who don’t espouse such shallow aims. I am actually with you on this as it is something liberals get wrong all the time. Liberal whites are almost all middle class - and as such hold a superior attitude against the working man. In talking of white privilege they simply confer the idea of privilege they have to people who do not have it. What young white men need are positive role models and an end to artificial blame game
politics. Tate is not the answer to that.

Which is all fine, but the science of climate change and emissions targets are totally detached from human well-being and development of society.

As usual politicians are rushing into policies which are making life worse for average citizens, and especially harmful to lesser economically developed countries.

There is huge middle ground between the science & the politics which needs to be navigated carefully

I completely disagree with this. If anything the targets are too weak. Politicians will not adopt policies that are likely to be extremely unpopular. All this short term thinking and lobbying is for vested interests. In the end it will be the poor that suffer the greatest impact from Climate Change and COVID is just the beginning.

Absolutely this.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make this whole time.

Conveniently ignoring the domestic violence bit. How inconvenient that it should be ‘regurgitated’ like that. You really don’t want to be an apologist for someone like this, regardless of how much money he may or may not have donated. Ironically enough, it’s the battered wife line - “but when he’s nice, he’s lovely”.

I’m not ignoring it at all. I will judge people on the metrics I deem important, what I know to be true, and what I believe to be true.

There is a video from the woman in the video you posted as proof - saying that what happened is consensual. Literally the same women in the video has said multiple times that they they are still friends even now.

Im not an apologist for anyone.

And lots of women stay with their abusers.

Anyhow, let’s move on from this now.

Ok.

moving on, I would like to define what I mean by “woke” by bringing up this clip from a Vice interview between feminists, discussing what feminism is:

https://www.reddit.com/r/JordanPete...urce=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Someone asked earlier what “woke” is. It’s this victim mindset which blames others for the problems in your own life. It is identity politics

It's not just that Tate is a bad role model. He's actively preying on the people that treat him as a role model. His subscription service is marketed toward people that want to be like Andrew Tate, and he was making several million a month peddling this juvenile fantasy. Beyond all of the other awful things he does and has done, he's fundamentally a scam artist targeting the people that trust and believe in him.

I don’t really understand what this has to do with anything? If trump claimed that and he lied then he’s a liar. Lying is never good, especially from those with influence and power

The fact that you don't understand what I'm saying is the problem.

When someone on your side of politics does it and it's repeated across the internet by people who don't check the story he's a liar and it's not good.

When someone on the other side of politics does it and it's repeated across the internet by people who don't check the story it's propaganda spread by the far left.

I know you literally cannot see the problem and that you're utterly unpersuadable so I really will leave it now. Take care.

The fact that there are people who still deny climate change is a problem muct be one of the most baffling political stances ever taken by humanity. As someone who is a birdwatcher and keen on nature, the evidence is all around us and it always strikes me as being ridiculous that people cannot only see this but axtivelt deny it too. Without doubt, I am seeing birds from Southern Europe in my village like Little Egrets and Cetti's Warblers that I would not have seen back in the late 70s when I first got interested in birdwatching. Wierd too to think that other "exotic" species like glossy Ibis can turn up in Blashford Lakes, Romsey which is not more than about 5 miles from where I grew up! There are other elements at play such as habitat loss which are no less significant yet, for me, the only question is how typical are these climate changes in Earth's history and just how unusual is the pace at which this change is currently happening.

I support the position taken by Greta Thunberg although she now just comes across as a stroppy teenager and is not longer really that effective as a campaigner/ Have to see that I tend to take notice of people like Sir David Attenborough who are more eloquent and more informed. The fact that some people still feel that it is appropriate to deny climate change is happening is more than disappointing and indicative of a lack of intelligence and also the fact that people have become disconnected with nature as technology and industrialisation has taken hold.

I’ve noticed a few egrets over Hampstead Ponds recently. Whereas the sparrow population in London has declined dramatically. The little cockney sparrer is becoming a rarity, sadly.

Climate change and mass extinction aren’t dystopian theories - it is literally, as you say, happening all around us right now.

I think it’s very possible for the climate to be changing, but for it not to be a catastrophe. The climate has fluctuated since the dawn of time.

It’s already catastrophic in many parts of the world, and for many species. Not maybe, sometime in the future. But right now; we’re living through it. The waters are rising and half the world’s on fire.
