yeah, most managers do especially tuchel, but how many times do you see new owners come in and they get rid of the current manager as soon as possible. What Tuchel has achieved counts for nothing with the new boss.
Would he get a UK work visa, though? Currently unemployed economic migrant muslim. Probably get detained at the border and dispatched to Rwanda!
I thought he might have got the Utd job. Chelsea job is like a merry go round, i many half decent manager gets a chance there at some point
please log in to view this image Interestingly for Tuchel the RB Leipzig job just opened up. Tedesco got the boot after they were drubbed 4-1 at home by Shakhtar. I'm sure Timo Werner's hoping for a quick reunion.
What you say makes complete sense, the trouble is we are not talking about a 'sensible' profession. With the millions involved it's very difficult for anyone to turn down the opportunity for life long financial security. From a football point of view it's also difficult for a football man to turn down the chance of working with top players.
There are a lot of idiots in football. Potter doesn't strike me as one. He's clawed his way up the managerial ladder from a part-time team nobody had ever heard of. I'd expect him not to jump at something just because there's a load of money involved. He'll put Boehly's proposition through the wringer, if he takes it....and he may well not.
No way Potter turns down Chelsea. He would be mad too. I can’t stand them as a club but they’re one of the elite and Graham Potter like anyone else knows it’s a huge opportunity.
Could be...but if there was one coach who I could see turning it down, it would be Potter. With his history, he'll know that not everything that glitters is gold.
I assume Conte has been doing 11 vs 13 drills in the training sessions, once the Citeh line-up was announced.
Seeing potter go to chavski is like knowing a really fit bird but not going after her because she's your wife's sister
I feel it's more like watching one of your mates who likes fast cars buying a really silly one. You know he's going to plough the ****er into a tree on a bend that he's misjudged.
It could be a bit like Clough going to Leeds in the end. While it ended disasterously as a job, the (then) huge payout meant that Clough could take the job of his choice and take his time with it knowing that he was financially secure.
From a Chelsea blog: "[Potter is] said to be open to the idea of upgrading his office to this fancy chopping block of ours."
