Leeds60 was there from the 40s I think he said, Heidi and WC to name a few older supporters have been there and done it, but I doubt they think of themselves as best fans and they certainly have never thought anything less of us. Elland just regurgintating a very boring topic.
Then you have twats like Nasser Hussain who 20 years ago was telling everyone how much of a Leeds fan he was then a few years later switched to Arsenal “For the first 30 years of my life I was a Leeds fan but I switched to Arsenal because I couldn’t bear the thought of taking my kids to lower-division games. The Western Terrace at Headingley still think I’m a Leeds fan and give me a cheer and I’m not going to tell them otherwise.”
Yeah, let's sign Sarr. He'll really make a difference out wide for us as he fights for a place with Aaronson, Harrison, James and Summerville. I'd rather sign a striker as I am depressed at the thought of James playing up front.
He could buy the whole of Leeds Utd and make us one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Team Ineos and Leeds Jim not just a % of shyte
Yup, the same one who wanted to buy chelsea a few months ago. Maybe the new game for the ultra rich is see who gets more likes on twatter etc. Elon started yesterday, whose next?
I can’t be the only one who thinks we’re doing just fine as we are i.e. a team well capable of competing and staying in the PL - and debt free. Doing it the right way. Not just throwing loads of money at it and essentially becoming a billionaire’s plaything and a soulless entity. A proper football club. It will take longer to one day maybe break into the European places but there’s a lot to be said to be able to do it on an almost self sufficient basis (obviously selling one or two star players along the way but it is what it is) Having a billionaire owner wouldn’t guarantee any silverware anyway. There’d still be five or six other clubs with the same spending power. And perversely it seems the more money you have the more in debt you become - so what’s the point? And it wouldn’t change a thing on here. We’d still be moaning. Only we’d be moaning that we finished fourth instead of third. Basically I’m happy as we are. And looking at the bigger picture, where we were four years ago, and where we’ll be four years from now. Hopefully in the upper echelons of the PL.
Well said that man -------------------------------------------------------------------- Not that i would complain about a billionaire takeover
yep just you fella No, seriously that’s a great post. Without sounding too ‘x-factor’ it is about the journey, the hope, the excitement of building something. it’s open to debate what is the best strategy for building a side from yo-yo/relegation battling to challenging to win things. Obviously a fat cheque book is a short cut if it’s used correctly, but I like this buy young talent - see where it takes you approach. It’s the will they/won’t they bit that makes it exciting. Winning the league every year sounds great, but when it’s expected? Is there much satisfaction? Well ok it doesn’t sound too bad actually. But you know what I mean. At our level, would you rather sign young wonder kids who might be the next big thing - or might be a dud.. or some late 20’s premier league proven mediocrity? You may need a mix of both to survive but what gets your pulse racing?
Difference between scum then and now is old red nose. Glazers have still spent 1.25 billion on players but if you’re spending 85 million on Maguire and 95 million on Pogba then your manager needs to be asked some serious questions. I like how we’re going about it. We should never forget the Ridsdale way!!
