Because of what the goal meant it’s kinda gone under the radar how bloody good it was. Not many strikers at this level capable of that quick movement.
My sensible mag mate was very impressed with Stewart, said we would do well to keep him.

To be fair to him for a mag, he is ok. Text me not long after the final whistle to say congratulations, enjoy it and safe journey home

Quick feet done the keeper and caught him off balance, tbh I couldn't believe it when it went in and he didn't dive for it but looking at all of the replays it's fantastic center forward play from Stewart. The movement to drop off then a quick couple of touches then...wallop. Happy days.

Ice running through his veins to give the keeper and defence the eyes and execute an accurate finish in such an important game. Great attribute for a striker to have.

Stewart is class like, he was the main reason I was gutted when it looked like we screwed up any chance of going up. As I could see him leaving and the end of the season and us finding it even harder next season as we would have probably replaced him with a couple of strikers that couldn't break into double figures!

But somehow out of nowhere we went on the march and did it.

Just an aside, I think I am right that our starting 11 on Saturday were all ours, no loan players at all. I know the three we brought on from the bench were all on loan, but I think that says something about how much more stable the team is now. Yes we need to get the out of contract players and those with only one year left on their contracts sorted but we are not the basket case we have been for the last five years.

Yeah. Doyle, Clarke and Broadhead were on the bench. They were the only loanees in the squad

2 of the starting XI out of contract this summer (on the assumption the club takes up the option on Roberts)

I have a family full of (largely plastic) mags and my in-laws are B&W too. My cousin text me before and after the game. He was largely complimentary but scathing of the standard of football

Heard nowt from my in-laws. It's as if the phone lines are down where they live. Neither of those ****ers even go to games, but claim to be "dyed-in-the-wool" etc etc. Can't even bring themselves to congratulate their Grandson/Nephew on a great day at Wembley. Pathetic

genuine mags i know have all been sound...it seems to be those that have never been to SJP that make the most 'anti-mackem' noise as if to prove they are die-hard fans.

Back home, having stayed over to watch Phil Parkinson's Wrexham lose in the FA Trophy - ko 4.15pm so got back home at 12.45am Monday morning.

Didn’t get to Covent Garden but I was absolutely blown away by the gathering in Trafalgar Square, though I didn't get to see any celebs. I don't know if it could be improved by official club involvement or not, what do you good folks think?

Huge apologies to Smug and the other boardies who met up at The Argll - I was there but Mrs D had arranged a surprise meet up inside there with an old school friend and husband, who are close family friends. A few beers and a bacon sandwich later I did manage to drag them outside and mingle for a bit, but I had an anxiety attack and, coupled with innate shyness, it meant that I couldn't bring myself to approach people to ask if they were from on here. Sorry @Smug in Boots , it was poor payment for your fantastic gesture in securing tickets for me.

Hungover plus being well on the way working up to another hangover, I can say that being in Wembley stadium on Saturday was the experience of a lifetime. I couldn't even hear Mrs D unless she yelled into my ear.

The goal celebrations were truly epic - I think it was @Sidthemackem who was bumped over, along with Mrs D, but I was two seats over and wouldn't have been able to talk even if sat next to each other.

It was hugely annoying to see so many empty seats in the stadium knowing that so many Mackems were unable to get tickets. Wembley Stadium must learn from this and not do stupid things like sell tickets in both NE and SE wings of the stadium but not in the central, east wing - so denying access to the opposing fans.

The Wrexham final was a very pale comparison and was mostly dominated by Parky setting the team up to play parkeyball - sideways and backwards passes until a defender lumps the ball right upfield. Perhaps that might have worked had he not also changed formation and played a number of players out of position. This meant I spent this game shouting at the team as much as chanting for them, unlike for the Sunderland game. Bromley were well worth their win, but their fans outside the stadium were very early 70's - petty and hate-filled. Sunderland and Wycombe fans were far, far above this behaviour. There were a good many young kids there on Sunday and that sort of behaviour was just horribly archaic.

The downside to all of this is that I've lost my voice - the best I can manage now is a faint croak, which somehow sounds sexy to Mrs Draig and hilarious to Draig jr!

This might seem a daft question after the weekend we've all just had but anyone on here preferred that we went up automatically and avoid the play-off lottery...I know personally with a thick slice of hindsight it would be churlish to deny what our fans went through a few days ago and are still talking about it now.
Bet Wigan and Rotherham fans put their promotion celebrations to bed ages ago.

Anyone wanting to go into the play off lottery is foolish. Automatic promotion everytime.
