I live directly under the flight approach to Glasgow airport.Sometimes you can read the airplane company logo as they're fairly low. Anyway,last week we had a couple of unexpected visitors fly over extremely low and making a hell of a noise!! Two American F15's.
That one came from Miami and there is another of the same type and GLEX coming from Dominican Republic maybe that explains the badges

A few times a year the RAF does night time training from the Lincolnshire stations. Always get moaning from the holidaymakers in their caravans because the noise is far more noticeable at night, I believe the locals tell them that's the sound of freedom.

I don't know if it's still the same, but some areas of the UK allowed military aircraft to fly lower than many other Countries in certain situations, so we were the main place for low level training over land.
Could well be that he's flying family/friends/staff back from the Dominican Republic too. Or there's more than one rich person who is flying from there to Europe today.
