I don’t know why but I really really dislike Rodgers. I still think he’s overrated as a manager and also a bit of a snake
I’d say the level of criticism is baffling. People both on here and social media in general were going on as if Hojbjerg was a terrible player more so than just being in bad form. There was a lot of unnecessary and untrue words said about him. No doubt he was/ is in a bad patch of form and even today, prior to the last 15 mins, he weren’t at his best (but my god he was excellent in those last 15) but all in all he’s been almost a godsend to our midfield since joining and his attitude is second to none too, I think similarly to Lamela it can rub off on other players on and off the pitch.
With all these games on hand, being out of the European Conference Pear Cider League Cup looks like a blessing
He never hid tonight even when things weren't necessarily going well he was available getting on the ball and keeping it moving, we shouldn't forget that incredible tackle on Barnes in the box which looked nailed on for 3-1 until he appeared from nowhere.
Under Conte you feel like the team have begun to remember the fans are the life of the club and are trying their hardest. Was gutted we lost in 95th minute but texted a mate to say that at least we are playing attacking football and it's exciting and good to watch. That was reminiscent of the Pochettino era of 2015-18....particularly that Swansea away match. So pleased for Bergwijn. Really impressed with Winks and Doherty did really well. Have been critical of kane but he kept going and never gave up. Skipp keeps delivering mature performances and Hoejberg had a very good second half.
That tackle looked irrelevant but it was as much a match winner as Bergwijn's goals. Incredible defending.
