The players have got to shoulder a good amount of responsibility for not standing up to Shrewsbury, at the start of the second half. A strong captain, like you say, was missing. One or two more hard lads as well.
What an absolute load of ****e We were fairly comfortable second half an would have went on to win until his ridiculous Evans substitution
When is the post match interviewer going to open one of these interviews up with what we are all thinking, “Lee, that was a ****e display, what the **** are you thinking about with these tactics?”
I have no. Issues with defensive subs when it’s needed. If they’re looking likely to score, get some cover on. They didn’t look likely to score until he made the change. We had plenty of the ball and they looked tired. Utterly drained. Then Evans comes on, puddles about with the ball instead of just getting rid, few poor passes and plays later they equalise. Then they have something to hold on to. They suddenly find the energy. so, effectively, our manager has given the opposing team the energy they need to get somethiyout of the match. Doesn’t feel like 2 dropped, it feels like a loss to me. ****ing imbecile
Totally out of his depth this bloke. Going the way of the likes of Parkinson with ****e like tough place to come and all that bollocks. When are we going to bring in a manager with some ****ing ****e n onions about him.
was going to leave this till the morn but i can't...i am sick to feck of LJ changing players positions midway through games (gooch had 3 or 4 different roles against ipswich) and the simple fact is we are not creating chances for our striker, the poor fecker is chasing back to get the ball, he is trying to get wide to win it and he ends up anywhere but in the middle which is really no great surprise as right now we manage around one decent ball into the box per game. ball comes into our box we have six headless chickens booting it anywhere and still cannot clear it, i noticed we managed to get a ball into their box and the defender not only stopped it uncontested, he had time and space to look up and take a touch before clearing...what happened to those nice through balls we were playing early season, are the runs not being made or are our midfielders unable to play those balls now because they all seem to sit so deep. until gooch moved himself more forward in the first half our only real threat came from pritchard/onien working on our left, there was feck all in the middle yet that was where we had a lot of joy a few games ago. AoB was a waste of space first half, improved slightly second half, dajaku tried hard to create but that free kick was horrendous, geads tried to line himself up for a shot or his crossing was miles off then he just simply dropped out of the game (injury, someone said) so was 'useful' for about 10 minutes but this moving players around the pitch HAS to stop, after spending a half getting used to whoever has been thrown on next to you players are then moved elsewhere and not only have to get used to different players making different runs and wanting the ball played differently they themselves have to adjust their own mindset from defender to midfielder or vice-versa...pointless, pointless and (imho) is actually contributing to our drops in performance. i guess we have 'stopped the rot' which is what i wanted to see but one half decent 45 minutes of football, one or two bursts of 'looked better' is nowhere near filling me with the confidence that things are being looked at, changed and improved which i also wanted.
My main concern is how quickly this has gone from feeling like a side that can go and win the league to feeling like every other season we've been at this level. Sides around and above us dropping points tonight, a perfect opportunity to take full advantage - yet we labour to a draw despite being a goal and a man to the good.
Up until their sending off I was enjoying the game, end to end with little ****terypokery. Start of the second half I was anticipating a goal fest (for us). Very disappointed. I’m sick of being disappointed. Will new players in January change anything? Only if they are used properly. We are slowly losing ground on other teams and it will not be easy to make it up. What is the point of changing a game plan that is working? I think everything I wanted to say about tonight’s game has been splendidly said already by others. I don’t want to watch this **** anymore. Even when we go ahead I get a sick feeling that we will allow an equaliser. I’m fed up, pig sick and too disillusioned to even care anymore. After 60 years as a supporter, this is what it has come to.
I thought after Saturday the pressure to fire LJ would be off for a while but after tonight I think we might be the point now where the greater risk is keeping him on rather than trying someone new. The task is to keep us in touch with the top two until we can strengthen in Jan, and doesn't look at this point that LJ is up to it.
Seems to me that LJ treats league games as he would treat games at the training ground - he experiments ffs, I don’t want to think of what will happen if we persist with this guy, he has lost the plot big time. Like you Sandy, I have watched and followed SAFC for 60+ years now and remember the desperate times all too clearly, seems the powers that be have not learned from history as it repeats itself all to often for my liking.
Johnson is out of his depth at this club, this season is going downhill fast and them twat players are doing this, each season this happens we need big changes in Jan, but this new owner does not give a toss either in my view, selling Wyke and not replacing a disaster a bunch of fairies that lot AND no black players again, why ? got to question that and where did Johnson dissapear to in the 2nd half, in hiding ? Oh he is banned what a surprise might not be back after that pathetic surrender.
Like I said on the other thread, didn't see the game last night as I was at a non-league game but from what I've managed to catch up on, the substitutions don't seem that strange, other than the fact that Evans isn't very good. As I understand it, O'Brien wasn't playing very well so he needed replacing. But as the full backs have been getting isolated recently, we need a replacement for him that will track back. Dajuku, on the bench, doesn't do much of that but Gooch, who is already on the pitch does. So, remove O'Brien, move Gooch into his position, Winchester back to right back. That makes Evans, as a defensive midfielder to replace Winchester, the obvious replacement for O'Brien. QED It only falls apart because Evans appears to be useless.
I thought it odd to bring on Evans especially as we seemed to play worse after the reorganisation to accommodate him
