Good win. McCarthy silenced the 'Fraser in' brigade with a world class save (and another clean sheet). Redders put in another good shift. KWP proved he can play left back just as well as right back. Can't see anything too controversial about all that but unlike others I think Adam A had a really good game, getting into good spaces, getting shots off early (something we've lacked over the last year) and never stopped running.
I thought Adam was good but he can't miss the amount of chances he did.

KWP MOTM first half, Salisu 2nd half and overall. The man's a beast of a CB. KWP great going forward in the first half as well. Tino also excellent.

Salisu is great but not MOTM today. Think Romeu matched his beastiness today, and Sally was guilty of sloppy passes on at least two occasions. Also, gets so tight to players, that he runs the risk of getting done. Sloppy yellow card. Struggled with Sarr a bit.

I was at the game and he was fantastic in the 2nd half. The amount of tackles and interceptions he made were so crucial.

Yes he can be a bit lax on the ball but his strength, pace and positioning is top notch. And he's only 22.

Romeu was superb and even found time to hit a beautiful diagonal pass onto Tino’s boot.
I too thought he was battling to keep Sarr under control especially, as you say, when he got too tight.
Ralph has previously said that he needs to improve his passing, and the two incidents you refer to shows that some of it could be down to lack of concentration, rather than the difficulty of the pass.

Feel for A. Armstrong. His positioning and run-making is fantastic. He’s just too snappy with his shooting. Needs a goal and I feel he can really go on a streak. I know Che got the goal (a f*cking beauty), but Armstrong was the more dangerous of the two.

Regards Che, should have come off at 60 mins; looked so tired.

Third time today I have greed with you.
I posted after the Chelsea game that I thought A Armstrong made too many runs into areas that didn’t threaten the goal, whereas today (especially first half) he was finding space in really good areas. The time KWP got to the bye line and pulled it back is a good example of his movement today, because he had taken 3 or 4 steps away from the goal to set up the angle for the pass and space for the shot. Just a shame he was high.
Have to say that by getting the ball wide so quickly, A Armstrong didn’t need to keep coming short and pretty much, for the first half especially, played within a central attacking position, within the width of the goal area, which is where we need him.
