I don’t understand where this we didn’t play all that well comes from. Maybe we have different definitions of playing well but how can you score 4 goals in a half and claim we didn’t play ‘that well’

Yes United were poor, but we made them Look poor by playing well and tactically being better and taking advantage of their short comings.

We drew their players out to create space, which we then exploited with quick passing into feet and movement.

Goal one, pass into feet, pass into feet, flick round corner, first touch flick to Salah runs at player and lays it into Keita path.

Second one was a **** up from maguire and shaw but we had numbers forward to win the ball then delicious cross from TAA.

Thrid one was brilliant pass and move from Bobby leaving United players behind. Bit of luck with deflection and then nice cross.

4, lovely control and footwork from Bobby and Jota making runs off the ball from left wing into centre to make the pass.

thrn the 5th brilliant press from Hendo and Bobby to win it and brilliant pass.

then the last 40 minutes we just controlled the game and saw out the win preserving energy and trying not to get injured.

Other than Fernandes in first couple mins and the Ronaldo disallowed goal, don’t remember United creating any kind of chance.

It was probably as complete a performance from back to front that you’ll find
We gave the ball away sloppily a few times. They did have opportunities before the game was completely lost to them. A decent team might have exploited them better. I'm not putting us down, just being realistic.

Lijnders: "Millie felt his hamstring getting tight. Looks like he's out until the international break."

“Naby has a bruise in this moment, we assess it day by day. It’s looking good, so that’s good.

“Fabinho will not be ready for tomorrow’s game, we will assess him day by day still. He can make the game on Saturday hopefully.”

Lijnders on Thiago: "Brighton will be close, but probably not. He's almost back." [HASHTAG]#awlive[/HASHTAG] [lfc]

absolutely.

the delusion i am seeing from fans and pundits reminds me of LFC in the late 90s.

how they cannot see that this is all very very wrong I don't know.
Its brilliant, half of em are ole out and the other half are glaziers out.

The fans and club are in turmoil this morning.

The official line is ole is staying but i dont trust that at all. I reckon theyll have a new manager by the time we return from the next useless international break.

Have we ever not given the ball away or given the opposition one or two chances before?

If someone can point to a game where none of that happened, we dominated all game, scored lots of goals then I will gladly admit that we can play better than we did v United.

I appreciate no one is saying we played badly, but I’m struggling to think of a game where we played better which the opinion seems to be we could have done.

TBH mate I thought that 2months ago. I recall saying that the international break was the time to do it and they did not and went on a cup run and kept him in the job.

I read someplace that agent ole doesn't actually take training himself. Somehow he sits like a lord above the rest and its the coaches fault. Thats unbelievable stuff.

We beat utd by doing the basics, never had to get out of 1st gear but im sure that had we needed to, we would have turned it up a notch or 3.

I think its just nice to be able to say we beat our biggest rivals on thier own patch 5 nil. Not getting out of 1st just rubs salt in the wounds a bit more imo<laugh>

No, of course not - it always happens. I'm just thinking that a better side would have at least given us a game there.
I said on here just after the game that we tore them apart without even being at our best - that's all I mean by it.
We're on fire again this season going forward - no doubt about it.

Milner looked quite stiff so i'd be surprised if its not 4 weeks which is when arsenal game is just about.

Keita has a bruise. lol. others would get up and limp on but he was stretchered off. at least he saved our ole's job.

thiago info is useful at least to us.

I think the comparisons of how well we played are against ourselves and how well we know we can play. We can win a game 5-0 and not have played our best football. Obviously it was good enough or it would have been a different scoreline. I like that Klopp and the team always see room for improvement; it means they will keep trying to get better and better.

Barcelona 4-0 at home was pretty much the perfect game. I can't remember whether Klopp said there was room for improvement after that one <laugh>

If I judged this game I would say that watford was a harder game than utd. we did your business and took the chances.

like last year 7-0 v palace, took every chance going. then couldn't score for 2months. we have to keep doing the basics and the results take care of themselves imo.
