Match preview;
Peterborough had gone four games without a win before their 1-2 win away at Hull on Wednesday evening. They currently sit 20th in the table, having won three, drawn two and lost eight so far this year. Their top scorer is Siriki Dembélé, with 3 goals, but scoring hasn't been a problem...they have actually scored 14 so far this year, which is the highest of any team outside the top 14. In terms of defensively, however, things aren't looking so good...they have conceded 26, and so have the worst defence in the division, next on the list being Cardiff who have conceded 24, and then Reading with 22. Darren Ferguson will be keen to sort out their defending asap to avoid a nerve racking season.
As for us, we're the second highest scorers in the division, with 24 goals...only bettered by Fulham's 29. We've got players coming back from injury, and after Tuesday night, have now moved into the playoffs. I don't want to get ahead of myself, and lets remember...this is QPR, so given the stats point towards us scoring a fair few, we'll probably hit the bar, both posts and have a certain goal cleared off the line by one of our own players...and walk away with a point after a dull 0-0 draw...but...here's hoping another solid away performance will get us the three points we need to solidify our place in the top six.
Team News:
QPR: Lee Wallace, Sam Field and Charlie Owens will all miss out for the R’s, whilst Stefan Johansen may return following his suspension.
Peterborough: Jack Marriott, Ricky-Jade Jones and Joel Randall miss out through injury, whilst Jonson Clarke-Harris remains suspended.
Pre-match talk:
Mark Warburton (QPR Manager): “Now we have another tough game at Peterborough this weekend.
“They also come into the game following a very good result in midweek, at Hull. That will give them lots of confidence.
“They are tough to beat at home – I watched their recent game against West Brom. They are hard to beat and break in numbers. They have ball players in midfield and defenders who can drive out with the football.
