Albert ahead of Alsop was crazy. But Currie ahead of Abbot was understandable; Scotty has bowled well enough previously that leaving him out today would have been quite brutal. (Not to say we couldn't have done it though.)
My point of view is why bother to go through the whole competition if you are not going to give yourselves the best possible chance to win it on finals day?, it just doesn't make sense to me.
77 - 3 was four but a strange situation with a "catch" that wasn't because two fielders collided and one was touching the boundary and became a six.
Wow, what a day, the southerners done the competition proud. 3 great matches that just about had everything and more. So pleased that Kent won the competition after 14 years and that Darren Stevens at 45 picked up a winners medal. @tomw24 what was the atmosphere like? It looked great on tv
Atmosphere was superb. The rendition of "Sweet Caroline" was pretty incredible. Just a brilliant day despite Hants ****ing it up against Somerset.
I don't think any of us Hampshire fans can really claim that we are/were the best T20 side in the country, but I was so frustrated and cheesed off at us getting in a winning position in the semi and then throwing it away when 2 or 3 more nailed yorkers would have seen us lose in the final to Kent rather than Somerset. I too don't understand why Alsop didn't play and also Gubbins - unless the rules made him ineligible for some reason? Although he should have been out much earlier on, one has to say "well played" to Weatherley. I guess that will secure his place at the top of the order for another 2 failures against Lancs, surely Prest would be worth a go there instead? The difference in his 4 day and 1 day form has been so marked recently. Do people think McManus will come back in? Probably will, for Organ, with Abbott for Fuller being the other change.
