Really? Not a direct replacement at all for Grealish and considering they've bought Buendia and Bailey to replace him. Leicester replacing a top quality player with a bit part player? Unless they saw something other than the goals which I didn't then they wouldn't be nowhere near. If anything I would say he's more a mid/lower PL team player at the moment.
You can understand that (as he wants to aim higher than us), the sensible thing for him would be to sign and have a release clause.
Depends how you use him. Arsenal have tended to use him a lot further forward than we did but I have seen him central and deeper too. I'd agree about where you pitch him, to me he is not Maddison class on known evidence but the PL doesn't really work like that. Largely cause of agents. In the PL he is now a ****ing top class player. Reality is the likes of Leicester and Villa would just see him as a good addition to their squad. However goals from midfield are at an absolute premium at present, particularly if you are English. I'm assuming that the likes of Villa and Leicester would use the massive funds they received from Man C or Arsenal to buy more than just one replacement, looking to improve the overall squad. Leicester is the obvious one if they wanted a makeweight. I mean they thought Ayoze Perez was worth 30m so who knows what they're capable of. The news today suggests he is likely to be coming here and Artetas comments suggest he is willing to deal. So the hold up must be Willock, which if that's the case its because he thinks he has better options than Newcastle. To be fair that's a good portion of the league mind.
“hello, Mikel? It’s Brucie here, wondered if we could talk about bacon… sorry, no, Willock; wondered if we could talk about Willock…” Arteta; “no” “canny, thanks mate, will give you a call tomoz eh”
I t would be more like this. Hey Arteta, willock (munching noises in background). No senior! Bleeep Bleeep Bleep bleep
