For me and no bigger fan of Klich on this site than me, (some may remember I was the only Klich fan at one stage) but he was tired and injured last season and only had about 10 good games. Dallas covered for him well enough but having a 21yo combative midfielder putting you under pressure can only be good. Good for the future too as Klich is now a 30yo, Dallas is also over 30. Fact is some players let us down last season through injury, suspension or bad form at times. We lost points due to this and I think Bielsa is looking at all options that counter these issues.
Gallagher would walk straight in to our first XI. The midfield would be Phillips, Gallagher and Rodrigo. He is an upgrade on Klich (on last seasons form). Gallagher is a perfect fit for Bielsaball. He can play all 3 midfield spots through the middle and his workrate would probably put him at #1 at the club. Don't want him as a loan, I'd just buy him now if possible.
You might be right. I see Dallas I'm the Madeley role. I reckon he will start most games but in a variety of positions. Having a specialist midfielder in there will free him up to cover both full backs and the central midfield. Also, Dallas is our third best winger after Raphinha and Harrison and I would expect him to push Harrison for a place on the wing if he has his usual dip in form. As the season rolls on, Dallas will start most games but as injuries and suspensions hit it will probably be in a variety of positions. We seem to have alot more options this season.
Remember Mike Bassett? I giggle every time I watch Burnley or Aberdeen play. Benson plays for the former, & Hedges for the latter.
