It isn’t only famous, we have lost. Late last week after a short battle against cancer, Garden Village lost our secretary Mr Phil (pushchair) Davies, a football loving man, a referee for many years in local and welsh leagues. A man who I and many others had many debates on football with every Saturday afternoon. To be fair many games in last weeks welsh cup games held a minutes silence in his honour. He leaves behind a wife, daughters and grandchildren, he will be missed and thoughts go out to his family and all who knew him. His funeral on Thursday will do a drive by at Garden Village football club so we can all pay our last respects.
Maqsood Anwar, from Barry, was playing for Sully against Monkswood Cricket Club at their home pitch on Saturday afternoon when he was taken ill. It is thought the father-of-three had a heart attack on one of the hottest days of the summer. Friends and other players said a defib machine might have saved his life. Sully Centurions said they will be discussing the issue of defibrillators at their club meeting on Monday night. RIP Maqsood
So sad . the cost of defib isn't expensive and despite what you see on the box its unlikely CPR works without the aid of one . they should be freely available .
