Steve Cooper is set to leave his position as Swansea City's head coach. The former England Under-17 head coach is understood to have indicated he wanted to leave his post and has come to a mutual agreement with the club. Swansea are yet to announce Cooper's departure, with confirmation expected this week. They are believed to be hopeful of making a swift appointment, with potential candidates already being considered by the club's hierarchy.
For the life of me I can't understand why this has taken so long to resolve. If it had been Daniel Levy then Cooper would have gone in early June or earlier!
Perhaps Cooper wanted the final year of his contract paid up in full and it’s taken until now to resolve things: the Swans would need to have lined up his replacement, know his salary costs, which back room staff he could bring and what (cheap/free/loan) players he would want: then try and balance the books to see the most we could/would pay Cooper
Either of the first two would be a good shout. Both must be looking to restart their careers, outside of punditry, after a few months out.
The trouble is Blue that both would command high salaries and decent transfer funds - can’t see the Yanks agreeing to invest large sums to support such a strategy. More likely a youngster or someone who needs to rebuild his reputation - both types would he quite cheap
Ashley Williams. Great captain for us and knows how to rally the troops. Get him in, cos some rallied troops is what we're gonna fecking need!
The club hierarchy yanks ! are in talks with the managers of west end and garden village f.c. to negotiate £10 and a packet of Benson and hedges to manage us next season !
