We should yes but they have good wages and long contracts so no incentive to be ambitious. If we want new top players in (not sure fsg want to do anything) then someone has to go.

Origi missing out on euros should be the kick he needs to go get himself a move. World Cup is next year, needs a season playing to be considered.

same with a few other fringe players.

He wasn't in the 2018 WC squad. There are a lot of good players in his position ahead of him just like at Liverpool.

    Good list Mito <ok>

we’re all playing football manager now so what the f#ck.

Origi, Shaq, Keita and minamino have added the square root of **** all this season so get rid. And don’t give me the ‘who’ll have ‘em’. Just make them disappear. If they can do it to a champion horse, this lot of donkeys should be no problem.

Hey presto, loads of room for Mbappe et al <ok>

We should have sold him after the CL final because that was when his value was at it’s highest. We’re not blessed with limitless funds so we have to sell these players better IMO.

easier said than done. the issue really is that the type of club who want these players are the type of club that want to pay very little. It doesn't help is is wildly inconsistent in his application.

This season feels like another shalke , he's not been into it.

Origi's never been 'on it' ; he's had moments where he scores a goal from nowhere or is in the right place at the right time. I can't think of a perfomance (or even a shift) where you've thought, "wow, he deserves a start". He's just been perenially **** or bang average with a fluke worldie tossed in every 30 games.

I'm not sure there's a 'value at it's highest' aspect any more. It's willing buyer/willing seller situation regardless. The only thing that keeps happening is clubs overpaying based on WC performances which is as false a reason to buy as you'll see.

Mooted prices that never happen dont represent maximum value either.

What could we have gotten for wilson or origi or grujic?

    Who knows?

We know we got 19mil for solanke so if eever this is a perfect example of the willing seller/buyer point.

I could say 25mil for wilson or 20 for grujic or 30 for origi but all I would be doing is highlighting press rumours as no club bid those and no deals were done.

I've had several injuries, including a cricket ball in the mouth when I completely ****ed up a simple, skied, dolly-catch, but I've never felt pain like that, tbh. Two of us went for a volley and caught each other's knees full on. Both ended up in splints. Was only 14, so no permanent damage. :emoticon-0108-speec

Had a cricket ball smack me on the shoulder blade from a fast bowl, it certainly didn't tickle!

Good job I've good fast reactions, it was heading for my face. Turned away, tucked my head down and raised my shoulder to protect me.

To be fair, there was a period just before he got injured by that Everton player years ago. Prior to that point, he did look quite up for it and was scoring a few goals. He looked like he could have developed into that focal point up top. But he's never quite been the same since then.

It's all about getting the best deal for us. Selling Origi now vs after the CL final, I'm sure the values would have been different.

And this is why I feel we should be cashing in on Nat Phillips now - his value will never be any higher than it is right now because he simply won't get the game time next season (and if he does get mins next season, then we clearly haven't learnt anything from this seasons debacle).

I'd have thought that when looking at buying a player, clubs take everything into account not just the latest performances. Nobody is going to pay more for an average striker because he's scored the winner in his last two games. Apart from this sort of thing happening after every WC, I think buying clubs look at a player in terms of the whole package and what that's worth.

Funes Mongy. Saluted the cheering Everton fans as he left the pitch after being sent off as Origi was being carried off. Class.

According to ran, Origi, Karius, Wilson, Grujic and Awoniyi are all supposed to leave this summer. So, er, no surprises there then.

Asking price for Awoniyi around EUR 9 million. Fulham, West Brom and Stoke apparently interested.

    Wow.

If we can get 9mil for awoniyi who's had a series of injuries and not one impressive season then footballs backnin full swing again.

Karius is finally put of contract I think.

Origi is hard to see anyone paying him enough to really want to go

According to ran Karius contract runs til 2022.

Same source: Awoniyi had five goals in 21 appearances at Union Berlin before getting injured in February. Given that he's still 23, 9 Million Euro might be possible.

Liverpool expect to complete the transfer of Ibrahima Konate in next 48-hours. Agreements with player on personal terms and also RB Leipzig now in place. Exit clause value is £36m.
