It's the usual thing, when a team is scrapping to go up (or stay up, for that matter) they tend to drop the youngsters who are on loan for experienced heads to get them across the line Look at how Ipswich weren't using Troy Parrott 2-3 weeks back, but once the playoffs were out of sight he was back in the starting xi
To match the mid table managerial names linked Can’t see how any of this will convince Harry Kane to stay beyond this season. Where’s the ambition on the pitch?
Not sure how well this’ll go down for some of our fans. He’s been someone we’ve been linked with a fair bit in the past and I know a few have rated him. Could potentially be yet another player we haven’t moved quickly enough for/ rejected that’s gone to Leicester and done well.
If they are, it won't be to us . I wouldn't be surprised if he has interest though, he's been one of the league's best DMs for a couple years now.
I know it is not a popular view but IF we are to sell Kane I hope it is done early in the window...another Berbatov/Modric/Carrick/Bale window long saga is the last thing the team, the club and particularly our fans need going into a new season. On a brighter side, it is rumoured that we might accept a bid of less than £10m for Aurier...maybe realism is seeping in?
He's only got a year on his contract The obvious question is whether that fee would be upfront or divvied up over 3-4 years, because let's be honest a £10m slug going into the transfer kitty would be a lot more useful than £3m and a trickle over the next 3-4 years
Yves Bissouma has reportedly told Brighton he wants to leave While he wouldn't be a glamorous signing, he is somebody who could add some desperately needed midfield control to the team as he's effectively Sissoko but with passing ability and ball control, so would be very useful in the transition from attack to defence which we have been struggling with far too often
We need someone who can pass the ball forward with conviction once he tackles. These footballers seem very limited, they only seem to possess one skill set. I can break up play but I can’t pass forward. I can hold onto the ball but lack intelligence to release. I can win a crunching tackle but that’s about it. Ive seen players in Sunday league posses more than one required skill set for their teams.
Bissouma is certainly an upgrade on Sissoko given he's better defensively, plus can actually do something with the ball when he has it Given he can win the ball back and actually do something with it when he has it, while he is a marginal upgrade in terms of stats (as he barely scores or gets assists, with 2 and 0 respectively in theleague since he joined) he is far more likely to set us on our way than either Sissoko or Hojbjerg are As I said, not the glamourous signing some are asking for, but a better base for a glamourous signing to work from than Winks or Sissoko
CB Watch First of all, it's probably worth changing the tag to CBs Watch as it's being widely reported/speculated/guessed that we're looking to sign two CBs this summer, which presumably means we'll be offloading a couple First of all, Skyte Sports report that we've made enquiries about Jerome Boateng and Jannik Vestergaard, both of whom have been linked for a few months On top of that, Danish sources are ramping up the speculation about Joachim Andersen, who has also been linked quite a bit recently having previously been on our radar Finally, and guaranteeing that I'm going to make good use of my Ctrl key, is Shakhtar Donetsk CB Mykola Matviyenko, who Ukrainian sources are randomly linking us to due to our impressive history with Ukrainian players *ahem* So, obviously, that begs the question of which CBs are for the chop Sanchez is a pretty obvious candidate, and with rumours of Ajax being interested that no doubt pushes him towards the door, but the other one is interesting to speculate upon: Andersen plays similar diagonals to Toby so that would surely make Toby the more likely candidate, yet both Vestergaard and Matviyenko both seem a lot closer to what Dier is supposed to be than they do Toby Or we're selling all three and starting from scratch, although I find that a tad less likely
I’m gonna dust off my old puma kings off mate. Or the first gen total 90s I’ve probably got stored away somewhere. Pretty sure I can pass better than all our midfielders and I probably have the same level of fitness as Ndombele at the least. Being a prem baller don’t seem that difficult anymore.
L'Equipe report that Lyon are willing to let Houssem Aouar leave this summer if they receive a bid of €30m Better start renewing those season tickets, lads...
The DIANAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! have said Man Utd are planning to offer us one of David De Gea, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard or Donny van der Beek as part of the package for Harry Kane How about £90m plus all four of them? No? Then **** off and try to start your own league or something
