A Portsmouth supporter yesterday said the same. They want us out of this league so they have a better chance next season.
We’d still have been playing Lincoln regardless though. Just whether we’re home or away second leg. Now we’re at home so hopefully that’ll work well for us
I think there will be money to spend following the takeover. If you’d keep them all then be prepared for season 5 in League 1.
If we go up, I wouldn't keep Gooch. If we stay down, I would only keep 09, Gooch and Hume. It's time to stop relying on a man who will be 36 next season.
If we do manage promotion, we will need a hell of a lot better than what we have at the moment just to stop being relegated again
No doubt about that, but I'm confident that the funds will be there to help us achieve that. I won't be expecting a play off spot if we go up. In fact, I'll be very happy with a mid-table finish. Slowly, slowly and all that.
unless we get better midfielders goalie and strikers we will be in the bottom 3 oops that's a new 11 needed
It's going to be an awful league next season. Portsmouth, Charlton, Sheff Wed, Rotherham and any 3 from the play offs. Need to get out now.
Roker Report - Player ratings: Lee Burge: 5/10 Didn’t really have a thing to do except pick the ball out of the back of the net. Will probably be disappointed with the free-kick he conceded having got his fingers to it - although it might be harsh. Conor McLaughlin: 6/10 Solid game from the Northern Ireland international. Defensively assuring and tidy on the ball. Usual complaint of not being quick to support attacks down his flank applied, but good to have him back fit and a concern that he was substituted four minutes into the second half. Luke O’Nien: 5/10 Picked up a booking due to a sloppy Bailey Wright pass and is suffering with the new partnership at the moment. Bailey Wright: 4/10 Just looks off the pace. Sloppy passes across the back and clumsy fouls, including the one that led to the free-kick. Needs to step it up a level for the challenges ahead. Denver Hume: 7/10 Always looked positive and the game always seemed to step up a gear when he had the ball. Good to have him back. Max Power: 6/10 Was the one player trying to force a high press in the first half but often looked around and realised he was on his own. Could have been better in possession but was hampered by a lack of movement in front of him. Josh Scowen: 5/10 Won the the ball back well but negative and lethargic in possession. Lynden Gooch: 6/10 Always looked comfortable on the ball and didn’t really put a foot wrong without being spectacular, even though he spent most of the half at full-back. Jack Diamond: 5/10 Probably the plan from the start to give him and McGeady a half each, but nothing he did seemed to come off and struggled with his defensive responsibilities. Hopefully the minutes today will make him sharper ahead of the games ahead. Jordan Jones: 6/10 Looked lively without creating a huge amount. He was another who suffered from the lack of movement and pedestrian pace of the game. Should have done better with a chance in the later stages and provided the shot/cross for Winchester’s equaliser. Charlie Wyke: 4/10 After seeing the movement of Ross Stewart last week this was back to a stationary performance this week of the main striker. Wasn’t helped by the pace of the game and the fact he’s not fully fit, but still a poor performance. Subs Aiden McGeady (half-time): 6/10 Reassuring to see him out on the pitch before the serious business begins. Looked lively but failed to create a clear cut chance. Chris Maguire (51 mins): 6/10 Didn’t provide the spark that we saw last week and struggled to create any impetus in what felt like a pre-season friendly. Carl Winchester (66 mins): 6/10 Neat, tidy and got a goal. Could have done more to push us forward any dictate the play quicker. Aiden O’Brien (66 mins): 6/10 Gave us a bit more movement up top, not by a lot but it’s all relative. Grant Leadbitter (66 mins): 6/10 Did nothing wrong but could have tried more to increase the tempo of our play. Rate The Manager: 5/10 Tough to strike a balance of getting players minutes and ending the season on a high. Concern that we struggled to break Northampton down and played at such a slow tempo, hopefully it’s all part of the plan. Man of the Match Denver Hume Always looked a level above on the ball and one of the few who played the game at the right tempo.
It is definitely a fact that we will either win the play-offs or we will not... At least a 25% chance?
