The shackles.will be off, and we'll have a smashing 4-1 victory, 2 for Norwood, Parrot and a Bishop screamer....
Strangely I am just a bit excited about our prospects for next season. If we finish on a high, smash out 2 exuberant wins we will be more confident & ready for tough bright new challenges the new regime will bring. What with excellent sports scientist and performance manager brought in today, Andy Rolls, things are looking more cheerful. We are all agreed that Our physical/ training/injuries/ re hab has been woeful for years. 3-0 Town tonight. Miss playoffs by just 2 pts come Saturday..grrr!
Dobra has been good to watch, KVY seems a bit short of his best. We have been poor at playing out from the back and have caused a few hairy, unnecessary moments because of it. Norwood has led the line well. Faster passes on the counter attack and we could get something here.
We're still making too many passes in our half and messing about playing out when the break is on. One of our mistakes could easily lead to a Shrews goal.
4 minutes to go and Cornell is taking an eternity to retrieve a ball behind the goal line. Hurry up ffs!
Unbelievable, just seconds away from the final whistle and KVY lands awkwardly and looks to have dislocated his shoulder. What a ****in' season!
Looks like a hard fought draw and another serious injury. At least we have a better team to get KVY fit for August. Uncanny this long run of bad luck. Perhaps you do make your own luck. Charlton sprinting for the finishing line.
Another crap game again today. We didn't adapt to the Shrews field, that must have been at the very minimum limit for a football pitch. There was so much grass outside the white lines it was more than obvious that part of their style is to keep it cramped on the field. Many of our passes that looked overhit would've been fine at Portman Road but instead went out for throw-ins as we were forced to play miniature football. I was surprised nobody in commentary mentioned it and I could be wrong, maybe there is just acres of grass around the outside to create safe run off areas for players but it sure looked small to me. Passes out to the wing that looked to be good were suddenly and unexpectedly over the line and we didn't handle it all game. Dobra had a great game. Made some good runs, always wanted to carry the ball forwards but lost it a few times too. While you can say that it comes with the territory he still needs to learn when to release the ball to be more effective. Norwood should've scored today, not sure he should be our number one striker. Cornell made some good saves but some equally poor decisions too, not convincing really. Overall we had some moments, created chances but I'm still left feeling that it wasn't good enough. Poor final passes, poor shooting and risky playing around at the back made it another frustrating watch.
