It may be just me but I'd rather avoid Portsmouth in the play offs. I'd prefer it if they weren't in them to be honest. No other team bothers me like they do.
Can only assume that because O'nein did well initially and he's under pressure to get us up he's gone for experienced players rather than the unknown. I'd rather try the youngsters as they'll be playing in natural positions and it free's up midfielders. Perhaps our big squad also doesn't help. If we had less central midfielders O'nein would have been playing further forward. We;ll hopefully see more youth next season as the ownership get a chance to shape their squad. They had restrictions last window but the next one is chance to judge with no excuses.
I agree. Chucking in a youngster too early can shake confidence. I think we saw that today with Jack Diamond. I don't think his confidence is short because of the mistakes he has made but Captain Max can be a bit over zealous with the young's and they then try and play safe for fear of being vilified if they make a mistake
no need mate i have a wife, but best of luck with your sock, maybe getting out more may help you in that field,
Pleased to see the back of him tbh. Know little about Younger but he showed more in his debut than Flannaghan has in 3 years.
I can’t stand that we have had to play him and we gave him an extension. I still blame him for not going up under Ross. Harsh given all the other issues, but he was at fault in lead up to so many key goals. But he was better this year before he got injured. I think he needs to go back in as soon as he’s fit. Would be unfair to drop in younger in now.
I was calm before this game. I thought we'd have too much for them. If we don't go up I'll take it on the chin, but barring anymore bad injuries, we have enough to beat whoever. Let's hope we get it right this time. It'll be interesting how Johnson sets us up.
Some great posts and some great points made on here. From today, I was super pleased with the contributions that Stewart, Diamond, and Gooch made. I was also really encouraged by Power in the first half back in his natural position. Second half he contributed far less (not his fault). I also really liked Humes contribution today and have done one he got past his first 6 -7. games in the first team. Hectook his part in the game by the scruff of the neck and actively influenced the game. Im unsure about the youngsters being introduced (eg younger) not because they aren't up to it but because they are at that stage where if they put one foot wrong for us in a crucial point of the season, then it could break them as players. I would be tempted to have the senior players remain for the important games. Apologies...I also though Ross Stewart was outstanding
Hes shocking, especially late on, he is responsible for a lot of those drawn games when he seems to be sleep walking, only Macfadz and possibly Mathews prevents him from being the worst player on our books, cant wait to see the back of them tbh.
our next game means nowt, we are in the playoffs so i cannot see any reasons not to start with Neil Younger and the other young ones if they don't come up to scratch sub them at will, you never know he even may want to give the guy you recommend a game Hectook but i don't know much about him, sounds good given your glowing report on him regimental motto never let a good chance for a bit of a laugh go begging
Personally, from where we were under Parkiola; I'd have snapped your hand off for the playoffs with Mcgeady back in the fold, Wyke banging in 30 goals, Jordan Jones on loan and playing well and the takeover and the off the field appointments being made this season. All in all; strap yourselves in peeps it's going to be some ride!
Too late RTB, Isle of Mull 10th-22nd May, just be heading down the M74 as the semi second leg is finishing, Radio 5 Live for me I'm afraid. was in the Outer Hebrides two years ago when we did Portsmoth in the semis so I'll settle for that again, just not the heartbreak final if you don't mind.
We will score, we usually do, but how many? What worries me is that we will concede, but how many? The answers to the two questions above, will decide our progress or lack of. LJ's fate i would suggest depends on, luck of course, and how he revives the defence.
I admire your optimism. I see no hope going forward. Speakman already shown he’s out his his depth by appointing this idiot of a manager.
