Listened to LJ today and it did not lift my spirits. We will win, due to having a bigger squad than Accrington, not because of his smarmy patter.
Totally agree....just got to keep the belief we can do this. As you rightly say....a few twists and turns yet. Three points on Saturday and Peterboro lose....that puts the catch amongst the pigeons.....great post RTB!!! Haway the lads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aren’t they in woeful form? We could do with not just a win but a commanding performance for the first time in a long time. We need to end the season strong so that we go into the play offs full of confidence.
I think we will win but am still mulling over whether a score prediction from me will jinx us. In the meantime you can have a read (from the Echo) of what the opposition says about us "Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman complimentary of Sunderland ahead of clash Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has been speaking ahead of this weekend’s League One clash at the Stadium of Light. And the 58-year-old former Rochdale boss had some complimentary words for the Black Cats, their fans and head Lee Johnson. “Going to the Stadium of Light should lift anybody, players of our standard, and possibly that’s why Sunderland have had that problem the last couple of years that people are enthused by going there. “Logic says an empty stadium should favour us rather than the home side, but I am not thinking about that. I am thinking how we play against 11 Sunderland players not the very passionate and vociferous Mackems. “It’s nice to be going to these places like the Stadium of Light but these clubs should be playing higher. "Sunderland have got a marvellous fan base, great, passionate fans, they are a massive club that unfortunately isn’t where it should be in my opinion and I would like to see them restored to where they should be in the leagues. “Lee has done well, he knows his onions, he has not gone into a team in freefall, they have got a good squad of players, a healthy budget, a marvelous training ground and he will believe he has a great chance of getting them promoted.”
It’s out of our hands now, 4 wins from 4 is all we can do and hope Posh do their usual and bottle it at the end. 2-0 to the lads and hope charlton beat Posh. HTL KTF Cheers RTB
thanks for the thread again, I'm going for a morale-boosting 3-0 win, with players finally realising we're at the crunch phase of our season (and their careers in some cases) HTL
I reckon we'll hammer these, probably wishful thinking, but I reckon five nil. Might go up as I am on the lash later today.
Top thread as ever. Going for the lads to win, many goals and a hard fought sheet. H'way, let's drink some milk.
Mindset very important here. Get into them right from the off, we're not having anything other than a win.
RTB A win would be good... Need to build up confidence going into the poxy God awful play-offs If Mcgeady fit he will be back in, if Hume still not fully fit play 09 at LB and Younger in at CB.
Sunderland fans nearly always get a season run-in that is, shall I say, 'exciting' - we've always been lucky like that!
HA'WWWWAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM Although I haven't been concentrating on results much lately as our poor form has coincided with my own very low ebb. I have checked results. I won't be watching the match as I'm not up to it but a good sign I'm starting to take a bit interest again. I expected another loss but who'd have thought we'd of gone on such a run ? We can only hope Peterborough do the same now and we get back to winning ways. It's a long shot but getting 2nd now would be amazing and I could do with a bit cheering up. Even if we don't get it, there's always the play offs.
