I have had a bet in the bumper but its not one that I am madly tipping, if you know what I mean. The horse is REVASSER and I am backing it because its a half brother to LE REVE that the yard did so well with in recent years. Two 150 plus rated horses in your siblings is pretty rare but whether or not they will have all guns firing on a bumper debut I do wonder. A long term project seems quite likely but I definitely couldnt let the horse run unbacked. My other bet tomorrow is 25/1 shot RED SPARROW in the second race at Chelmsford. Its in my tracker as I think they have been fiddling with it so keep an eye on the market for any downward movement.
4:40 - Spark Of Madness - 18/1 A little concerned that it is drifting, but its interesting that he reappears here and from a handicap mark that looks exploitable. The horse ran in a handicap in February when the yards form was poor, with just 2 from 36 (following 1 from 26 in January), and that form makes him look a back number here. However his last novice hurdle run is interesting, finishing third behind a 126 rated winner and a 129 rated horse in second. He finished 2 lengths from the winner and albeit those two runners were carrying penalties, it looks to me to be very decent form for this grade. This race looks competitive enough but from a mark of 103 for a yard now in great form, I think this horse is worth a dabble each way.
Morning, crew. Altior just been decalred for Saturday's end of term bash at Sandown Park then. That Celebration Chase looks a potentially corking contest in fact. Thoise bookie chappies not giving much away though with, currently, three of the runners 3/1 or less. The forum's favourite trainer has runners in every race bar the Bet365 H'Cap Chase (3.40).
Just wondered, why I don't know, but what's your favourite trainer having for lunch? Give him a tinkle on the blower.
Re Hendo though is he aware that the Trainers Championship is beyond his reach?!? Sending out a huge number of horses to run over the next 48 hours or so - 23! Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these, who don't perform, over the course of the next 2 days, are sent to the horses in training sale next month.
Republican could run well in the 15:30 at Perth. Should stay the distance OK on this fairly easy track. Favourite atm, 4/1 with Bet365 best price at time of writing.
Would you believe it, fell at the last when in with a real chance to win it. Hope horse and rider are OK, as it was a heavy fall. Edit: Horse and jockey OK. That's good news indeed.
