All eyes, or should I say both, will be on the beautifully bred Polling Day Trained by the Gosdens and ridden by Frankie Dettori. I reckon this might be one they are eyeing up for a potential Derby ride for Frankie. This may expose his limitations but if he wins by a street in a decent time, who knows? Currently 40/1 for the Derby. Has no OR at present and his RPR is 87 after one run on the AW By comparison I see Uncle Bryn was given an RPR of 82 after his first run and 91 after his second run
CMON KENNY 20/1 Ludlow 4.20 Its not a bad little bumper this and the ones with form set a fair standard. This one though is out of a mare who won on the flat at 1m5f and her only other progeny that has raced to date won its bumper. Yard is also enjoying a nice run of form so at 20/1 I think its worth a dabble.
Well Polling Day will need to be significantly better than Uncle Bryn to tempt Frankie to take the mount for the Derby I'm intrigued as to what Frankie could be riding in the Derby. No doubt it will be the best the Gosdens have unless they don't have one good enough Gosdens have these entered for the Derby and I'm going to be looking at all of them to see if I can spot one whose odds may shorten significantly Law Of The Sea Trawlerman Uncle Bryn Derab Polling Day Beau Nash Zagato Daramethos Defined Imperial Sun For starters, interesting that Uncle Bryn was put in his place by Wirko today and Gosden has a once raced Golden Horn colt, out of a Teofilo mare, who beat Wirko (comfortably) over 9.5f, a distance more suited to Wirko. The colt is Beau Nash, currently an unconsidered 50/1 shot; he is entered in the Dante PS. I'm copying this to the Derby thread where I can follow up on this
Not sure why Ron is bothering with those blue bloods on the sand when you've got Perth and Ludlow on!! 5:15 - I can't believe I am putting this up, but I really like the veteran of this race (in the saddle as well as the horse) with the John Dixon trained and ridden Presence Felt. This horse caught my eye on its last run, when a staying on fourth at a mere 80/1. That day he went wide all the way and he jumped right throughout. That was at Carlisle, one of the two courses he runs well at... the other is Perth! His record at the two tracks reads - 2103262034 with 1260 being at Perth. This horse likes the ground today, is benefitting from a drop into amateur jockeys (always ridden by John) and this race isn't anywhere near as competitive as that one at Carlisle (Bali Body was second behind Storm Nelson - both probably now 120s horses). He drops into a 0-105 here and I can't believe he is available at 14/1.
Love the breeding of this one. The dam was Listed placed. Used to be with Godoplhin as well - they paid 110,000 gns for C'Mon Kenny back in '17. Very interested to see how he gets on later.
Really a hell of an age to be still competing, Nass, and the ground should have just enough 'give' for his old hooves! I would be delighted if he could win this. However, if I was to have a wager in this event, I think it would have to be Final Fling, Anyway, best of luck!
Dundalk 6.50- Tipperary Moon win 4/1. Up 6lbs for C&D win last month but with a clear run Colin Keane can guide him home again.
